ABOUT ME
I am Cherry Mae Ganate, single, 21 years of age, living with my parents, and I have two siblings: an older brother and a younger brother, which makes me the only girl and a middle child. I am a 4th-year student taking up a BSBA major in marketing management studying at a university in Cebu, Philippines.
As the only daughter of my beloved family, I've been told a lot by my parents about the things that they believe a girl like me can do and has genuinely absorbed everything they taught me because I knew that it was for my own sake and a parent would naturally wish for their child's goodness, which would bring them good fortune. Living in a four-wall house of wood is not easy, for there are instances in our lives that affect us.
For example, during unexpected typhoons, my family will always consider our house first because what if it cannot stand the strong winds and heavy rains? We experienced sleeping and staying temporarily in the nearby school; it was unbearable, but faith and God's will have kept our beloved house strong until now because we built it with trust and have lived here for almost two decades.
A woman like me is very ambitious. I have dreams I want to achieve at my own pace, like creating business shops that suit my passion and being successful in my field of work. I want to travel to certain countries, like Japan, Korea, Australia, and many more. To help my parents in a realistic setting to pay off their dedication to us and that I genuinely love them from the bottom of my heart because no matter how anyone would abandon me, I know I always have them and their love. The familial love they gave me strengthened me as a person and part of the family.
Additionally, I adore cats and dogs so much to the point I bite their cheeks every chance I get. My mom would always ask me "are you okay?" in a funny way every time I did that. I also have this habit of talking to dogs and cats as if they would talk back at me. They bring unexplainable happiness to me. My soft side is always because of them that I would cry if I saw a single clip of a dog or cat on the internet, may it be a cute or a sad one.
I consider them as one of my comforts too and they hold dear to me especially my guardian angel baby in heaven right now, Cholo, he was such a bubbly and lovable dog that every time I pat his head he would climb up onto me and hug me. The day he passed away was also the day I got my first ever heartbreak, it was devastating, sad, and regretful because I didn't give him enough needs he needed to survive. I was mourning so much that I wanted to disappear for a while and reminisce his memories with us. Up until now, I still miss my dog. I know he is happy and free in heaven now far from all the sickness that the world gave.
MY INTEREST/HOBBIES
Since my older brother introduced me to anime, I have come to enjoy it and even got more interested than my brother himself. Watching anime is fun because I am always in awe of how creative the animations are and the story plots are unique. Anime got me so invested that any time I have free time in my daily life, I will never miss watching my favorite anime. Anime not only brings fun to me but also highlights lessons that impact me as a person.
For example, this anime entitled "Hunter x Hunter" is a shounen genre, and the life lessons are very realistic. One character from the anime, Killua, has been tied down by a curse made by his brother that makes him unable to feel free and always hesitates to do things he wants, so Killua gives up and goes on with his life carrying that curse, one of the settings in the anime, wherein Killua met his best friend Gon, with their strong bond each passing day, Killua had this urge to fight the curse and successfully found a way to break it.
It is such a likable journey they had despite being a child. Facing your fears and reflecting that making yourself inferior to others must be out of the question because no one will shape who you are but yourself.
Also, One Piece is my favorite anime, not because it's famous and ongoing, but because the story itself is so interesting, fun, and therapeutic to watch. The characters were well-written. It taught me that being free for who you are and who you want to love is not up to others to choose and decide.
Lastly, I love listening to music. The music genres that I mainly like are K-pop and J-pop. Personally, I really like a lot of songs may it be in local or international. Every music I listen to has one thing in common. It is when I can relate and be one with the music that speaks what is in my mind that I can barely say.
To be honest, I have simple hobbies or interests because I tend to not get into something unless it catches my attention so reading this might make you think that I'm such a home buddy person because I am. I stay at home all the time but that doesn't mean I don't have any plans to be somewhere I like, I just want to follow my own pace and not rush things because I'm more capable of executing things on my ride.
MY PRIMARY REASON FOR JOINING HIVE
My reason for joining Hive was to show how I can communicate through writing with individuals who share the same passion as me. Joining this community would help me improve at socializing with people with inputs from their daily lives like mine. Knowing this platform is like a blessing to me personally because engaging different people face-to-face is still hard for me, so I already consider this a comfort place wherein I can write the things I can't say. This place is full of certainties that every person here has trust and a good bond with each other. Thus, this is just right for me to join and be able to create my well-written life events and consider this a home.
As @jeannmazing was introducing Hive to me, I honestly felt like a lost puppy because this kind of environment is new to me and I had a lot of questions regarding how this platform works and how I can navigate it. Now, I can confidently say that I have learned a lot and become more interested in joining this amazing platform with the help of @ybanezkim26, @intoy.bugoy, and @jeannmazing who insightfully discussed everything that I need to know about Hive. It was a smooth and engaging orientation I didn't even felt any pressure to rush in creating my blogs. They made me feel that throughout my new journey here in Hive, it will be smooth sailing with their guidance and support for a newbie like me. I will dedicate myself to producing quality blogs and most importantly a genuine output.
Once again, pretty Hivers! I am really excited to be here with you all. I hope a newbie like me could be your ally in terms of your shared wonderful stories in life!
