Hello dear Hivers!
Last weekend, we were driving to visit a campsite when we unexpectedly passed by a castle. We have taken an unfamiliar route and had no idea we'd come across such a place. While driving, we noticed a group of motorcycle riders by the side of the road, busy taking photos. Curious about what they were photographing, we slowed down to check. From a distance, we saw an abandoned castle. The view of the castle at the heart of the lush green forest, was simply stunning. The kids were thrilled when we repeatedly mentioned "castle," asking if it was real and if kings and queens or someone like them lived there. To satisfy our curiosity, I immediately consulted Google. A quick search revealed that it was originally intended to be a theme park named Fantasy World, but construction was abandoned due to lack of funding before the park was ever finished. While we were taking photos, I asked a local food vendor if we could get any closer, but he said that was as close as we could get. The road leading to the castle was closed, and the theme park had been non-operational for a long time.
This could have been a great tourist spot if it had opened. I still wonder why no one has shown interest in continuing its construction and operation. Even from a distance, the castle offers a great view, and it's still used as a backdrop for photoshoots. We even passed by a couple having their wedding photos taken with the castle as their backdrop. They had the full setup, complete with props, lights, and everything else a professional photographer uses. Their setup was so fairytale-like.
After taking a few shots, we got back in the car because there was nothing else to do there besides take pictures. We continued on our way to the campsite to relax and unwind.
All photos were taken by me, unless stated otherwise.

That is a wonderful looking castle despite it being for a theme park. At least it can be viewed from a distance for pleasure. I can't help to think the time and money spent to build it than it getting stopped in the end due to funding. Kind of sad if you think about it. The fun and money expected from tourism would have eventually paid for it. Thanks for sharing:)
I agree. It's such a waste of time and resources to let the castle deteriorate unused.
Since we are gf&Bf been telling the husband that we should visit here!
A lot of things happened that when we visited tagaytay it was already closed.
