Hello everyone! Let us welcome a new day with positivity and love. Wherever you are right now and no matter how you feel, always remember that you have a purpose and you are loved.
Many have said that a house is not an investment, rather it is a liability. Despite this statement, most of us educators wish to have a good home for us to relax and have a good sleep from a tiring job at school. Just like me and my wife, we did our best to have our own home. Where you can arrange your things as much as you want. Though it's just a small one, at least we can call it our own and we can rest anytime we want.
Last Saturday, our family attended a house blessing of my co-teacher, Lhors. It was also the feast day of their barrio in honor of Our Lady of Lourdes. The weather was not well, we thought it would rain upon going to ma'am Lhors residence, but luckily it did not. The schedule for the blessing was 10 in the morning. We arrived there 10 minutes before the schedule. We were waiting then for the priest who will bless their house.
Minutes have passed, our other co-workers arrived: Miray, Emz, and Elgie. They brought the empanada that Ma'am Lhors ordered from the neighbor of Ma'am Emz. Ma'am Lhors then invited them to have breakfast because the three were already hungry. While I was staying outside with my wife, I saw the car of Fr. Leo, our parish priest, went straight to the pumping station, which Ma'am Lhors gave as a landmark.
I took a photo of the lechon while waiting for Fr. Leo.
I went to the roadside hoping that the car would come back. I was right; it was Fr. Leo's car. He stopped right in front of me and asked me about the location of the house to be blessed. He parked his car, and I accompanied him going to Ma'am Lhor's house. When we arrived, he asked to light the candles so that we could start the blessing. I told the family to get out for a while and gather in front of the house.
Fr. Leo began the ceremony, and we participated in it by responding to the petitions offered. Fr. Leo then sprinkled the holy water as we sang the song of Our Lady. I assisted Fr. Leo in singing while we went inside the house to sprinkle the holy water. He went outside and sprinkled the holy water in the surroundings as we continued singing. He ended the ceremony and congratulated the family. Fr. Leo did not eat after the blessing. Ma'am Lhors packed some food and gave it to him.
We waited for our other co-workers to arrive so that we could have our lunch. It was almost 11:30, and I led the blessing of the food and had our sumptuous lunch. There were lots of foods aside from the main courses. There were puto flan, empanada, and macaroons. Jehoia kept on asking for the desserts, and I told her to drink plenty of water afterwards. We had some conversations after our meal about our future plans for the Lent season and summer vacation.

At 2 o'clock, we started our karaoke session. Ma'am Miray and I take turns in singing until the time they went home. My family stayed at Ma'am Lhor's residence because the former co-worker of my wife, a retired teacher, who is so close to her, invited us for dinner. I continued singing and when I got tired, we went inside the house since it was raining heavily outside.
Inside the house, we enjoyed making a beads bracelet as Jehoia asked the daughter of Ma'am Lhors to give her some. When it was 5 pm, we thanked the family and bid goodbye as we went to Ma'am Chona's residence. It was indeed a joyful celebration as we take part of the house blessing of my co-teacher. We were very glad for the success that their family achieved.
Thank you, everyone, for reading my blog. Till next time.

Yes, we all need a safe place to live and a conducive home for the family to live and grow. Food is always part of any occasion. I am sure every one enjoyed the food and the company. We also feel good when our place/house is blessed. Hopefully the residents continue to have a healthy relationship together.
You are definitely right. We enjoyed our moments with family and friends with the delicious foods. Thank you for your good wishes. 🫶
