Batang 90's
Let me take you back to the old times, the Filipino children way of living.
Do you remember your childhood days, the way you play to other children? there are many games during the time of 90's, almost all outdoor and physical, ill give some of them.
HIDE AND SEEK
Who doesn't played this one? Every child have played during "dapit hapon" or before and during sunset, even at night, every body knows the mechanics of the game, Taya "tagu taguan maliwanag ang buwan" LOL remebering that phrase, and by counting from 1 - 10 all player must have a hiding place, except for the seeker.
There are variation of the game in every different province and have slighty modification on the mechanics.
TUMBANG PRESO
AKA "tumba lata" played on the backyards, streets, empty garage, its a simple game, with an empty milk can with sleepers on the top, each player must hit it or Knock it down with his/her own slippers or bato, the "Taya" guard must bring the milk can and slippers back in place if the player hits it, then run towards the player and touch it before coming back to home base, to exchange of being the guard.
CHINESE GARTER
Girls and Gays game, but sometimes i see boys played it too, using a long stretched garter or rubber bands, that pulled and holds by two on both ends, the mechanics goal is to cross on the other side, that will start from the knee level up to the top of the head, and till the arms raise up, crossing jumping have different styles and types or technics that streched our body, good to start of being a Gymnastics.
PIKO
Have you finish it? i done it many times, both boys and girls can play it. do you remember how to draw the ten boxes? by chalk or by a piece of a garden pot or paso? Mechanics, the first step is by throwing your flat stone or "Bato" then stepping on the box with one leg and other box by two legs, then came back, the one box that your stone landed bacame your home, the other next player will jump and skip your home, stepping on the wrong box will be defeated, there are variation again in diffent provice and some countries also. There is a lot more like, habulan, patintero,
luksong baka, liksong tinik, langit lupa.
Video games are existing but in my town, there is very few, only rich kid is most likely to have one, video games are Family Computer, Atari and Sega.
NATURE
Batang 90's is also a nature lover, before Dora the explorer.
Climbing trees, making tree houses, bahay bahayan and lutu lutuan. Nature became our play grounds and became our toys for free, but have risk of falling and encountering dangerous animals, i remember i encountered a snake during climbing on the trees, poisonous snake a Philippine Cobra, "tuko" gecko, after a long day of playing, we are also wait for food.
MERYENDA
Healhty foods are also free remember the nutriban? trigo and Klim Milk, and also the fruits, like bananas, our lolas make it a bananacue, kamote make it kamotecue, kamoteng kahoy, rambutan, santol, lansones, ube and more, just sing the "bahay kubo kahit munti" now the follwing photos i'll show you, some houses that was built with woods and bamboo during 90's that exist even today.
HOUSES
Collections
Batang 90's of the Philippines is also a collector, text, pogs, rubber bands, jolens, "pera perahan" candy wrapper as paper money and tansan bottle cap as coins, appliances like old Compact Disk CD's, floppy disk or diskette cassette tape, betamax VHS tapes.
Which one is yours? i know thats not all of it, there are many things i didn't mention, like camera films that are now digital just like your smartphones, if you want to add right in down on comments section let us discuss it.
LOLO's and LOLA's
Better late then never, i would like to add as a celebration to mothers day the Grandmother and even the Grandfather, they have a big part to the Batang 90's in the Philippines, in culture and in our manners, our naughtiness are shaped by our Lolos and Lolas
Even we taste the slap of the wood stick "patpat" but we became a better person. Do you remember the Alpombra sleepers that fly away LOL because of you, did you know until now i am thinking about why there is no left or right on alpombra sleepers. but i have a quess, i think it is made to the elders with no left or right so they will never be confuse when wearing, trivia right?
Note:
Some pictures are pixelated, old and priceless.

Ang nostalgic naman nitong post mo. Nakakatuwa.
Oh, those were the days! The games we played back then were really fun and interactive, things that kids of this generation truly missed.

I feel so old, haha. Yan best na era.
Nagustuhan ko din po yung monochrome photography mo. :)
matanda na tayo hehe, salamat nagustuhan mo, nakakamiss talaga, karamihan mga kabataan ngayon di na nila naranasan yan..
