July 24, 20204 is our first day of OJT, and it's my first time wearing my white uniform. By the way, they call us Psychometricians in Training. I'm quite nervous and excited at the same time—nervous because it is my first time being exposed to a real-world setting, and excited because I will meet real people who truly need help.
On my first day of OJT, when I walked in and saw the patients, I felt a mix of emotions. I felt happy and sad. Sad because I know they are in rehab because of what they have done and the struggles they are going through. Happy because I can see that they want to change and improve themselves, which is why they are in rehab. Honestly, I had a different perception of them initially. It's hard to avoid having a negative first impression, but I know there's a deeper reason why they are there and why they did what they did.
I'm looking forward to the coming days when I will interact with my assigned client. But for now, we need to prepare and listen to our supervisor, who will guide us on what to do and what is not right to do.
