Hello there! Newbie on the go! My name is Loida Ebbes and I was born in the strawberry capital of the Philippines, La Trinidad Benguet. I’m the 11th and youngest child in our family. I have seven brothers and three sisters. Life was hard and tough specially that I wasn’t born with a gold and silver spoon. While studying, I had to stay with my siblings who were married in order for them to pay for my school fees and allowances until I finished my studies. Right now, I am happily married to my husband Kenneth Bryan Ebbes. We tied the knot during the pandemic and it would be another story to tell.😍
Get to know me more when I was a student!🤗
I started my scholastic adventure here at Wangal Elementary School, where I was introduced to the world of learning for the first time since I didn’t attend any prep or kindergarten thingy. During my elementary days, I wished to be in high school already specially that I received a lot of bullying from my classmates. I wasn’t blessed with a pleasing personality probably the reason why my classmates don’t like me that much. Well anyways, it wasn’t a big deal for me right then because I have a brother who takes care of me whenever bullies were coming after me. Also, I was awarded as salutatorian during our elementary graduation and this was a big deal for me since I was not that brainy like @catey-kate, our valedictorian.
Elementary days had passed, and my quest of knowledge took me to Benguet National High School for my secondary education, thanks to the foundations created there. Lots of requirements and assignments were there for every subject. Strict teachers keeps on coming as well specially for math subject that I don't excell. During those times, I wished again for my high school days to end because I wanted to work and have my own money. Indeed, it was a happy and tough journey during my high school days however I really wanted to earn already. I was so tired staying with my siblings and taking care of their children, doing all the chores and going to the garden while studying.
After deciding to pursue higher education, I ended up in the prestigious University of the Cordilleras, where I started a life-changing academic and self-discovery adventure. When I was in college and experiencing difficulties in studying, I wanted again for it to be finished. This was the time I experienced failed grades and repeated the same subject. I was complaisant before not knowing I wasn't in elementary nor high school anymore. I had more difficult subjects and more strict teachers compared to high school. I wanted to go to the next chapter of my life which is a “career woman” but couldn’t happen yet. I have yet to enjoy my college life studying, reviewing and passing my grades on my own because it was really different form high school and elementary. During those early years, I was eager to finish all my studies not knowing life ahead of me. Fast forward, with all sweat and sleepless nights, I was able to graduate Financial Management & Accounting.
Reality comes!😃
After my graduation, I immediately applied for work because this was the thing I kept on wishing before. I wasn’t choosy and my mind wasn’t that fixed yet. All I knew was to earn money during that time. I set out on a varied and rewarding work path that helped me grow both personally and professionally. My first job at SITEL Philippines brought me into the exciting world of customer service where I’ve learned more about “customers being always right” Here, I improved my communication abilities by patiently and effectively handling a wide range of client inquiries. I learned the significance of flexibility and perseverance in the face of adversity from the fast-paced atmosphere because of handling irate, kind & sweet callers. I got so tired and sick at SITEL because of their graveyard schedule so to widen my horizons, I moved into teaching and worked as an ESL teacher at Sankei and Bizmates. I came across with students from different countries which were Asian. Staying here for more than three years has been rewarding and has given me flexibility on my schedule. I also entered the public sector, eager to learn new things, and took a position as a Technical Specialist at the Department of Agriculture, Clerk at the Provincial General Service’s Office, and currently as a Revenue Collection Clerk II at the LGU La Trinidad. Here, I learned priceless lessons about financial management and administrative procedures, which helped local government run more smoothly. Working in a government sector is really different from the private sector while so much learnings arises. Now, I came to realize and remembered my wishes for my studies to be finished, I was wrong. It was more fun when I was young because my only problem were my assignments comparing to my problem now which are different types of bills, family, job, workplace and many more to mention. It’s important to grasp every stage and moment of life. Don’t rush on the next stage just enjoy stepping and solving every stage because there will always be another one to come.
For now, I am more focused on my spiritual growth for the enjoyment of every stage of my life. Comparing to my life when I didn’t have Jesus, it was full of regrets, problems and agonies but now when I met Jesus, it’s more fun, enjoyable and life has meaning already. I have been to several churches and religions however my real identity was revealed in Christ when I came across with this church, Jesus the Good Shepherd Church Global Ministries Inc. Right now while working in a government sector I am a happy teacher at JGSCGMI church. My genuine objective as a volunteer Sunday school teacher and Bible school teacher at JGSCGMI has been to foster others' spiritual development and growth. I was able to build a sense of belonging and community within the congregation by sharing my revelation, knowledge and faith to the receptive learners. I've learned from these varied experiences how crucial adaptability, sensitivity, and never-ending learning are to my success in both my personal and professional activities. Every role I've had has molded me in a different way and given me priceless insights and abilities that have helped me along the road. Upon contemplating my prior experiences, I am overwhelmed with thankfulness for the chances that have molded me into the person I am now.
For this new opportunity that I am about to embrace, as a new blogger in Hiveph, I am humbly in awe and thankful. I have to admit that when I first heard about it, I was intimidated and didn't know where to start. But sir @suteru’s kind invitation and steadfast support have given me the motivation and direction I needed to start. To begin with, I am not a writer, blogger or vlogger however this community welcomes everyone who has determination, who enjoys and willingly learns from what is being done.
