2022, Aurora Music Festival was a night of music, culture, and community that left the audience in utter silence and nostalgia. Many were thrilled to see the incredible performances, lively crowds, and a buzzing festival atmosphere this year. With a diverse range of performers, the festival provided an opportunity for all to experience, including popular acts and emerging talent. As we take a moment to look back, let's relive the best moments that made 2022. It's a festival that anyone can relate to. It is the first time here in Cebu City to have this kind of experience, I remember Aurora Music Festival is one of the grandest music festivals in Manila, usually it is held at the Clark since it has large venues. An opportunity came to experience this kind of event and it was truly wonderful.
Hello everyone! Welcome to another episode of my blog. In today’s episode, I want to share with you one of the most memorable experiences I had in 2022. It was my first time attending this grand music festival, and since I’m really into music, it made the experience even more special. Keep reading, and I hope you’ll appreciate it.
Before going to the event, I needed to purchase a ticket. As far as I remember, they offered SVIP for 3000 PHP, GOLD for 1000 PHP, and SILVER for 500 PHP. In my case, my friends and I purchased the GOLD tickets, as we expected to be closer to the guests. However, it was a classic case of expectation vs. reality. Upon entering the venue, we were surprised by the large crowds, something we didn’t anticipate. We thought it would be more organized, like the events happening in Clark. I also remember that it was raining at the time, and the ground was really wet and muddy.
As you can see in the picture, there is a caption. I posted this on my IG story, and at that moment, I was really hoping that I wouldn't have any hospital duty on the day of the event. If I did, I wouldn’t be able to attend since we had a night shift schedule at that time. And thank God! When we received our schedule, I found out I didn't have any hospital duty that day. It felt like it was truly meant to be.
We arrived at the venue late because of heavy traffic. As we entered, we saw Adie already singing on stage. We really felt butterflies in our stomachs at that moment because he is very good-looking. However, we were a bit sad because we could only see him on the big monitor, as we couldn’t get closer due to the stampede and the huge crowd.
Aside from Adie, they also invited Arthur Nery and Zack Tabudlo, who truly serenaded everyone with their performances. I was very happy to see Zack Tabudlo because I’m a huge fan of his, especially his composed songs, which always give me LSS (Last Song Syndrome).
As the event continued, the crowd was already vibing because one of the guests was Al James, the artist behind the viral TikTok dance song “Repeat.” The crowd, including us, was hyping up. We really enjoyed every song the guests performed at the festival. It was truly memorable. Aside from Al James, they also invited Kiyo, Victor Jao, Kate Jagdon, Via Chan and Kyle Zagado. It was truly a blast of a night, full of fun with friends who shared the same vibe.
By the way, the Aurora Festival was hosted by Jen Barangan and Medyo Maldito, both of whom are popular influencers these days.
At that moment, we decided to grab some food since we realized we hadn't had dinner and also wanted to sit down before heading back to our place. Since the venue was at Citi De Mari SRP, Cebu, there were a lot of food stalls located at the back. We chose a variety of food, but the lines were really long, and we also needed to use the restroom.
I remember we decided to grab McDonald's since there was no line, and we just got some water. We also took some pictures to remember this event. After resting for an hour, we went back to our spot.
As we went back to our spot, they had already introduced the next guest, which was December Avenue. I was so happy to witness them singing on stage. Since senior high school, I’ve been an avid fan of their songs. For me, their music isn’t just for heartbreak; it truly touches my heart. We vibed to the songs, and I even cried because I felt overwhelmed that, for once in my life, I got to witness them perform. They also sang their Bisaya song, which gave me goosebumps.
We didn’t noticed the time I remember as we checked our time it's already around 12MN and they announced that time that we are headed for the last performance in which most of the people awaited for.
Ben&Ben is now performing for the finale. Wow! This has truly been an amazing experience. Ben&Ben is one of the top bands I look up to, especially since they released their songs “Mundo” and “Leaves.” Their music is quite the opposite of December Avenue, as their songs carry messages of love, peace, and hope for those who have experienced massive heartbreak.
As Ben&Ben continued to sing, a beautiful fireworks display appeared. This was a great experience for me, and it will always be a part of my life. As I watched the stunning fireworks, I was moved to tears. Deep inside, I felt happy knowing I was healing my inner child. I never imagined I would be able to participate in an event like this; I thought it was just a dream, but I was wrong. Everything I spent came from my pocket money, and I enjoyed every single moment of it.
It’s never too late to explore yourself. This kind of event is something I never imagined experiencing, especially since I’ve always been an introvert and had a fear of crowded places due to past trauma. But look at me now, I'm enjoying every moment of it.
Good people and good company will surely make you enjoy the show. Some of these people were my senior high school friends, whom I only met on the day of the festival. Right now, I’m looking forward to attending the Aurora Festival at Clark Global Circuit in Pampanga so I can witness their OG guests and experience the event itself.I believe they’ll have a lot of guests there, and I’m looking forward to vibing with Silent Sanctuary, Parokya ni Edgar, and many more artists and bands. I’m also excited to meet new friends and explore the place.
