MY INTEREST/HOBBIES
I love to watch anime and kdrama, and I also like to read manhwa (it's a Korean term for comics). I also love to listen to podcasts and K-pop songs. My favorite K-pop group this time is Unis. It's a rookie group, but the girls in the group are very talented and very pretty. Although they are younger than me, I admire their courage to take risks even though their future is unknown to them.

But before them, the kpop group that I loved when I was in high school and to this day is BTS; they gave me comfort and confidence in their music, especially when I was in a situation where I was so insecure and hated myself. They made me feel loved and heard through their music. Even though their language is Korean and I don’t know how to speak their language, I still understand their music through eng sub and the message behind their music. Maybe for others kpop is lame or baduy but for me they are my Magic shop.
BTS
I also can sing even though im not good at it. I can sing, not bad that your ear will sting but not good that leaves you in awe just average. The podcast that I listen to now is the psychology of your 20’s hosted by Jemma Sbeg, it explains the science and psychology behind a topic, concept or universal experience that defines our 20’s from dating, to mental,health, career anxiety, friendship, finances, and all growing pains associated with this decade. Its actually nice because when you want some advices of what your going through she has everything and for me it can ease my mind.
PODCAST
I also play Mobile Legend, though not everyday; I just play it when I'm bored or to ease some anger. ML, for me, is the best way to release some stress, but sometimes you will get extra stress because of your teammates. And I admit I'm not good at it. The role that I play is mage, but before it was fighter, and right now the character that I played the most is Nana. If you want to team up im currently ranked in legend 2 and my username is lexi16. Please don’t mind my username I was in highschool when I made my ML acc.

REASON FOR JOINING HIVE

The reason I joined hive is that I want to try being a writer because, through out the years, I am always a reader. There's no harm in being a reader, but right now I want to try being a writer where I share my daily life, thoughts about things, and my experience in different places. And the hive is the perfect place for that, because my friend said that the hive is the safest place where you can share your thoughts. I also see it as a good chance to enhance my writing skills because I'm actually not good at writing; I have a hard time putting words in my thoughts. And I also get to see different points of view of people about their lives. The friend that introduced me to this platform is Ms. @jeannmazing, and Ms. @jeannmazing was the one who explained what hive is and how it started. During our online orientation, I learned a lot about Hive, and I was hooked. Im actually thankful to Ms. @jeannmazing for introducing me to this platform because I get to read and know different amazing individuals.

Hi everyone! My name is Evita Barriga, 20 years old and an incoming 3rd year student of Bachelor of Industrial Technology with a major in Computer at the Cebu Technological University Danao campus. I have five siblings, three brothers and two sisters, and I am the youngest daughter. And I am proud to say that I was raised by a single mother; my mother chose to move to Saudi Arabia in order to provide us with a decent life. But after my mother went to Saudi Arabia, my father decided to separate us siblings. My father took two of my sisters and one brother to stay with him while me and my two other brothers were brought to the catmon where my grandmother and aunt lived, and they were the ones who raised us. After years and years of waiting and longing, my mother decided to go home to reunite us siblings and to take care of us.

After hearing that my mother is going home, I felt many emotions rush to me. I was excited and nervous, excited because I can finally see my mother in person and not in some pictures, and nervous because what if she can’t recognize me? There were so many what-ifs in my mind at that time. But all those thoughts disappeared when she hugged me so tight and I felt so happy. For all those years that my mother sacrificed to give us a good life, I’m proud to say that she’s our superwoman. And now my mother has a small business, and it's making empanadas. It's small, but it's enough for us. I will share the recipe with you next time, but don’t share it with anyone; it’s just our secret.
