Every year, the Roman Catholic religion has nine days of "Misa De Gallo." It is a mass celebrated before Christmas day, and most churches hold it every dawn, but some priests offer evening mass to cater to all the parishioners. I don't know about the rest of the religions, but it is common practice for Roman Catholics, and I'm one of the parishioners. According to them, completing the nine masses would grant your wishes. Have you ever completed the nine masses?
I don't know too if it is true but so far, I only completed nine masses once, which was the time after during the last year of college. I was able to complete it because of my boardmates who had a goal to complete the masses and I just accompanied them and they were also patient enough to wake me up. I remembered that I wished to pass the professional exam, I think. Thinking about it now, I laughed at myself because I wished to pass the professional exam even though I was not sure if could graduate from college. Anyway, I was thankful that my wish was granted.
Now that I'm working at the government, and the work sometimes exerts my effort and time, completing the nine masses was difficult for me. I don't know; I was too lazy to wake up at 4 a.m. In addition, I'm now married and my husband forgot to wake me up early, so it was expected that I failed to complete the masses.
This year, the same as last year, I think I could not complete the masses again as expected, it would be because of my laziness but today, I was able to attend the first "Misa De Gallo". I was motivated to attend because our workstation was one of the offerers of the first "Misa De Gallo" and I was tasked to deliver our offering to the church. Even though I was still sleepy at that time, I forced myself to wake up and attend the mass.
Despite the church being a walking distance from our house, I had no opportunity to get inside the church because there were more attendees every "Misa De Gallo". As you can see in the pictures, it was taken outside. I had no complaints because I brought a chair.
Overall, the day was a success. The mass ended at 6 a.m. I still hope that it will not be my first "Misa De Gallo and I will share if I succeed or fail to attend more than one "Misa De Gallo".
