Hi there, Hive!
It has been awhile since the last time I posted a blog here. I have been into a year of hiatus for some reasons. One of it was I lost my phone where I stored all of my hive keys and the apps where I logged in my Hive account. Luckily, I was able to retrieve it and here I am!
So much has happened and so many things have changed since I was gone in this platform. There was a change in my perspective and a change in my whole being.
Anyway, here's my quick weekend getaway at Dumaguete.
So yum! This is our food for the day - grilled pork and fish.
I have been busy for the past few days so I was thinking what if I would jump into the island across me and catch some quality time with my good old and new found friends?
We started off by preparing the things to bring and cook on the beach. Then, we looked for a spot where we can hang out and found this place.
Their sand here is black because of the erosion of volcanic rocks and minerals.
This beach area was a bit crowded during noontime since it was a weekend and this is also one of the famous beaches here in Dumaguete, Negros Oriental.
It was my first time trying their beach here and for a fact, I was a little scared to swim on their beach because their sand was black due to the erosion of volcanic rocks and minerals.
FUN FACT: Negros island has a lot of active volcanoes and one of it is the magnificent Mt. Kanlaon.
Cebu island looks so tiny in this angle.
While some of our friends were busy preparing for our lunch, I decided to start swimming and it was not scary after all. The only thing is that I am not able to see what's below me because the sand was dark which made the water appear dark too, unlike when you are swimming on the beaches of Cebu or other islands, you will be able to see the rocks, corals, fishes and others.
I just enjoyed the wave and some of my girl friends joined me. We talked and laughed and went back to the shore when we were about to eat our lunch.
For lunch, we had grilled fish, pork, and "fish kinilaw", a raw fish that's been cured in vinegar and spices.

When we were done eating our lunch, we spent the rest of the afternoon talking and drinking, made fun out of the day and tried to catch up with each other's lives.
Although the getaway was just quick and simple, still, nothing beats a quality time with friends and getting out of each other's comfort zones and leaving the hustles and bustles of life for the meantime.
Uy isda pahingi.

This makes me wanna visit our beach also and hang out with my friends! 🤍
It's just so soothing to be at the beach—the rolling waves, sea breeze, and smooth horizon all conspire to soothe the mind and spirit. There is something special about the ocean that seems to dispel worries and leaves you serene. Moments like these are truly priceless and refreshing!
