Summer time is mostly the time when our mangoes are in full bloom.

In our hometown, Caduawan, Tabogon, Cebu, we have two apple mango trees.

That green little house is our dirty kitchen. It is located just near our front yard where our apple mangoes are situated.

Our apple mangoes are grown naturally without any fertilizer. Sometimes they burn the mango tree leaves that serve as their natural fertilizer.

As you can see there are a lot of apple mangoes on the branches. These are the green, unripe ones.

Our apple mangoes are in full bloom especially during the months of May and June. I love that even though we did not add commercialized fertilizers, it still bears a lot of fruits.

There are a lot of mango varieties here in the Philippines but apple mango is one of the best types of mangoes.

We all consume these mangoes and we do not sell these. Most of our neighbors come to our house to ask for apple mangoes and we give it out for free.

Some businessmen proposed a price but we always say no because we don’t want to sell it. If you want to eat, you can ask freely from us and we will give it out for free.

These apple mango trees have been present in our front yard for many years now but it has not been that long since they started bearing fruits.

We just water the trees regularly, burnt dried apple mango leaves and made a compost pit also. Our compost pit includes fruit and vegetable skins. I heard it is way healthier than those commercialized fertilizers.

All of our two apple mango trees have a lot of fruits so it is indeed in full bloom. Unripe apple mangoes are also perfectly paired with shrimp paste.

But in my own preference, I love to eat the ripe ones more. I love the sweet taste and the pleasant aroma ripe apple mangoes have.

To get the mangoes, we do not climb the branches yet we use a bamboo to get the mangoes. Here is my uncle getting some apple mangoes using a bamboo.

We don’t allow people to climb on the branches because it will ruin it. It is better to use sticks to get the fruits.

My son struck a pose near the apple mango tree and he can reach the other ones which are located just near the ground. He used to climb the apple mango tree back then.

We also have some riped apple mangoes that we stored inside our cabinet. This has been harvested a few weeks back.

Apple mangoes are definitely very sweet once ripe and you can even eat it as a viand. It also has a good smell and a pleasant aroma as you eat it.

I will rate it a 10 out of 10 regardless if this is our own fruit. (no bias). It really tastes so good and it smells so good also.

To more summer and more apple mangoes! Ciao! ☺︎♡
