Hello, Hive!
It's been a month since I last published a blog here since I was busy with school and during my free time, I would rather rest and take a breather from the draining noise of the city.
Ever since I got into college, I have learned the importance of taking a break from everything from time to time. I have started to appreciate small things too — like having a six-hour sleep, getting 7:30 AM classes canceled, and getting plus points from your professors.
College life is very different from what I have imagined in the past. From having a five-hour vacant till the next class to studying during major exams week, — which I romanticized a lot when I was still young — reality hits differently.
Taking a BS in Accountancy is another thing. This program has always been known to be rigid, hard, and fast-paced. Exams are either hard or very hard — there's no in-between.
However, I have been very grateful to God, my family, my friends, and to people who make things easy for me.
Firstly, I want to talk about my family. We all know it's cliché to say our family is our motivation to succeed but yes, for me, they are. There was a time in the previous months that I wasn't able to go home for one and a half months and that was hell for me. I would wake up each day trying to do my academic responsibilities while also fighting homesickness.
There were times I would cry when I woke up at 5 AM and wish that the time would go by fast so that I'd be able to go home to my family. I tried very hard not to succumb to the sadness I felt every time and focus on my studies because I knew they were all rooting for me. And thankfully, I was able to overcome it and I went home for a week!
Second, my friends, I seriously don't know how I would have survived without them.
Because I was away from home, they became my home in this bustling city. Our after-class escapes were always therapeutic and fun. Life wasn't easy but they made it tolerable. Having true friends is a blessing. So, surround yourself with good people!
Another thing that keeps me going is the things that make me happy. As I have mentioned in my past blogs, I love NCT so much and it just amazes me every time that whenever I feel down or sad, I just watch content and listen to their songs and it makes me feel better. Even seeing their posters and advertisements randomly lifts up my mood!
Whenever I feel sad, I don't talk about it to my friends that much, I talk to God. I pray. I believe. And you know what's the best of it all? He listens. That is why I feel very blessed and grateful to Him. For giving me my family and friends, for always guiding me, and for keeping me sane. Whenever I feel lost, I talk to Him and he immediately takes all my worries. ♡
I have never been vocal about my faith in other people. But I feel like I want to share this here.
This blog is supposed to be just an update about what has been going on with my life. Also, a way to vent out and share my gratitude. Most importantly, as a way of celebrating how I survived all the things I have encountered — big or small. This is just the start, I know there is so much that awaits me. It might be hard. But it will all be worth it.

It's always helpful to have friends by your side. God knows I wouldn't have been able to survive the stress of school without my friends.
