Hello, Hive!
I'm back again with another blog! :) For today, I will write about our department's acquaintance party at Fort San Pedro last October 7.
It was right after our prelim exams when the acquaintance party was announced. I wasn't planning to go either because I wanted to make it a rest day. I always prefer staying home and doing my stuff instead of going out and interacting with people.
However, it was a requirement for most of our courses— it has extra credit too.😭 So, I decided to go.
And I'm glad enough that I did because it became a memorable night for me.
The Preparation
Our theme was vintage but we were not forced to wear vintage clothes as long as it is within the suggested color palette which is brown. As for me, I didn't have decent clothes for the event so I was stressed out about what to wear. Luckily, my grandparents were very supportive. My lolo sewed my pants/trousers and my lola accompanied me and bought me sandals and a top.
The Outfit
On the day of the event, my friend went over and we got ready together. I did her hair and she did my make-up. I was grateful to her because I wouldn't look presentable without her help. 🥲 We left the house at 4:00 PM as the event will start at 5:30.
The Journey
We went first to the mall right across our school to wait for my other classmates as we agreed to go together. When we arrived, we immediately saw one of my classmates and decided to wait for the others at Jollibee. We weren't able to contain our cravings so we ended up buying two yumburger and pineapple juice.😭 Right after we finished eating, my other classmate arrived but we still had to wait for the last one. Because of certain circumstances, she arrived 40 minutes late.
We immediately called a taxi after we were complete to go straight to the venue— Fort San Pedro.
A Night of Fun and Friendship
When we arrived at the venue, we were immediately greeted by our friends and classmates. We lined up for registration and got our souvenir. We retouched a little bit as we waited for our turn to take a picture.
I was amazed when I got into the venue. It was my first time going to Fort San Pedro and I can say that it gives off the that vibe.
Unfortunately, all the seats were already occupied when we got in. I was sad as I thought we would stand throughout the event but we were ushered to the upper part and there, I was fascinated by the view and the colors of the sky.
Though we were quite far from the stage where the program was taking place, we were still able to enjoy it because of the view and the air above. It was a great time being able to bond with my classmates and get to know them over little talks.
The event started with various performances from the equally talented College of Business and Accountancy students. Three of my classmates were also able to perform. It was nice seeing other side of them outside the four corners of the classroom.
After the performances, the program took a break and the most awaited part began. 🥁🥁🥁 Dinner time! 🤩 We lined up and were greeted by a wide array of foods. There were also fruits like pineapples and watermelon. We got what we could eat and went back to our table. Dinner was gratifying and fun because it was another round of chismisan with my classmates.
The event continued with a dance competition between sub-orgs under the College of Business and Accountancy. Each sub-org was given different eras of music to cover— from the 80s to the 20th century. Our organization, JPIA, clinched the 2nd place! All the teams have shown amazing performances which brought us back in the past.
Next were the announcements for the best dressed for the night followed by performances from our professors from CBA.
The event was concluded with a fireworks display and a jamming party which hyped up the crowd and made all of our nights extra amazing. Before going home, we all watched the same-day edit of the successful event.
We got home through a bus provided by our school and I arrived at 10PM.
It was a long and tiring day but it was worth it! Making it a requirement for some courses was a blessing in disguise as I couldn't imagine missing out on a night of fun! I am thankful for everyone who planned the event for it made us, freshies, enjoy and interact with one another before drowning ourselves with acads again.
I guess it is true that students should take every chance they get and have fun without the pressure of acads even just for a day. Balancing social and academic life may be hard but once one can do so, it does make an impact!
Thank you so much for reading! Always remember to do things with kindness and love.♡
Nakakatuwa talaga 'pag may mga ganitong events na nagpapalapit sa classmates, plus yung bonus na maganda pa yung view sa Fort San Pedro.

I also prefer chill moments with myself or at home rather than going out or partying, but sometimes it's not that bad and this kind of experiences are a lot more needed in our lives than we realize :)
Indeed! We sometimes need new things and go out of our comfort zone in order to grow.🤍 Thank you for reading my blog! :)
