More often, opportunity comes your way unannounced and when you expect it the least. I loved to spend my time writing stuff, like prose and poetry whenever I find inspiration. To me, it’s a kind of de-stress activity and allows me to be detached for a while and be in a world where you exposed your emotions through beautiful words or creative stories.
My friend @ayane-chan, introduced me to this writing platform and for some times, I explore it through her. Yet, it took me a long time to decide whether I am up to it but as I read some contents and beautiful inspiring stories from the community, I find myself hook! My heart leaps whenever I read content of which I can relate and somehow wishing that one day, I will find the courage to express myself again in writing. And I guess, this is the day!
Beautiful people, allow me to introduce myself, You can call me John, that’s what my close friends and buddies call me. I consider myself an introvert. I’d rather be reading under the shade of a tree, than go to a party. I am more at home following a hiking trail to the top of a mountain than spend a day in a mall. I find it refreshing and invigorating exploring and finding new trails in the mountain.
I could be afraid of heights, yet I do rappelling and even cliff jumping! It could be bravado, but it’s my way of coping and conquering my fear of heights. I’m a kind of contradiction, like I am having butterflies in my stomach when I talked to people, yet I do speak, do lectures especially on leadership and team buildings to groups, organization even colleges and universities. Seriously, when I am done, my back will be so wet with my own perspiration due to my struggles of controlling myself not to bolt out of the hall.
I am hoping that through this community, I can find some people or established some friendships with people where we share things in common. Things that were interested and passionate of, perhaps even swap beautiful stories and unique experiences. I consider myself an outdoor person, I love camping, hiking and just loafing along mountain trails. I do biking as well, in my spare time I do gardening, growing some veggies on a pot, and of course, I love cooking. I used to take out some recipes which catch my fancy and try cooking it.
I loved photography, especially nature photography. I do travel a lot, been to Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore. I know how to speak Thai, because I stayed in Thailand for six years, and a little bit of Bahasa Malayu. October this year, I might also be given an opportunity to travel to France. It’s not a holiday trip, but a training for Urban Search And Rescue (USAR). You see, I am a member of Rescue Recon 1 Philippines and a trained Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and Emergency Rescue Technician (ERT).
I'm looking forward of joining such a wonderful community, where I can fit in and will have the opportunity to get to know beautiful people like you, who shared the passion of creative writing. I don’t have the talent or skills of a writer, but I just loved expressing myself through it. I hope I will find my niche over here.
