Main Dish & Side Dish, Food Preparation

Hi my fellow hivers, It's me Hyundais. How's your day? I hope everyone's doing well. To be honest, I really miss blogging, and I'm sorry for the delayed update because I'm very busy with school. But now I'm here,and I am excited to share some insights on basic food preparation at CTU Tabogon Extension.

On November 13, 2024, one of the teachers announced that we will have groupings in our section because we have activities for tomorrow, which is the main dish and side dish food preparation. My group mate decided that the main dish we will cook for tomorrow is Pork Chop Ala King, and the side dish is Potato Salad.

Today, November 14, 2024, the food preparation starts at 3 o'clock in the afternoon. While the time is 12 o'clock, one of my group mates buys ingredients at the Tabogon public market beside the police station. The saddest part is I didn't go with him, I was waiting at CTU Tabogon. Then my other group mates and I are preparing the chef uniform because one of the kitchen safety rules is always wearing safety clothes and shoes. While we are preparing ourselves, one of my classmates came back here in CTU Tabogon with the ingredients for Pork Chop Ala King, which are;

Pork chop 1 kilo
All-purpose flour 1 kilo
Bread crumbs
Six eggs
One liter of oil
Sauce
Onion
Garlic
Carrots
Butter
Evaporated milk
All-purpose cream
Cornstarch
Knorcube Chechen.

Our instructor gave us twenty minutes to prepare all the ingredients before we start cooking because that is the most important kitchen safety tip for food preparation basics. We prepared all the needed items like chopping boards, a knife, and a bowl for the sauce Ala King. I used a chopping board and a knife to slice the onions and carrots into mince. The ingredients for sauce Ala King are;

Butter
All-purpose cream
Carrots
Onion
Pepper
and Chicken Cubes

ALA KING PORK CHOPS ( Main Dish )
The ingredients for Pork Chops Ala King are:
pork chops
Eggs
Cornstarch
Breadcrumbs
All-purpose flour
and one liter of Oil.
I mix them in one bowl, and my groupmates cook them. I suggest slicing the potatoes while they are cooking the main dish.

Potatoes salad ( side dish )
After cooking the main dish, we cooked the side dish next. We made potato salad by slicing the potatoes to form oblong shapes and soaking them in evaporated milk with two eggs.

This is our plating design, we use fresh leaves of litus and put under the Pork chops Ala king, and sauce of ala king to attract the judges and put a little pepper above the rice.

Finally, the judges like our pork chops Ala king and also our plating, but there is a little fault with our food, which is the sauce of ala king. If you can see the picture above, I put an emoji. But it's not bad, he gave good grades for our activity today.
