We did a campaign for Mental Health Awareness for our activity in our Major and we have to documented it and post it on facebook. It was a great experience for me to share some positive thoughts, and being a listener to them. I'm happy that, even in a short period of time of campaigning we were able to share our advocacy about Mental Health.

We did a rehearsal first before, taking a video because we wanted to connect with people from the start and make them feel that that someone is truly listening to them.

On our first try, it was a little bit hard, because when we asked her about mental health her answers were repetitive, and we didn’t have follow up questions. But we learned from that, and in our next interview, things went more smoothly.

We made her feel heard, allowing her to share freely with us. We also shared some healthy coping mechanisms to help her manage stress. I’m a bit envious because she has a best friend she can lean on when everything feels so heavy.

And a reminder that Your Emotions are Valid.

After our trial, we proceed to took a documentary. At first, we felt nervous about interviewing strangers. But as we got into it, we realized that being friendly, even with people we don’t know, helped us connect with them.

During the interviews, many people were shy to share their problems, and I understand them it’s hard to trust people now a days days. But I was really impressed by those who did share their stories. I could sense how heavy their hearts felt. It showed me that even if someone looks fine on the outside, they might be struggling on the inside.

We kept doing interviews, and to make people feel better, we gave them a positive quote and a lollipop.

It was a small way to show we cared, and to thank them the time that they spent to us. Seeing people interested in our campaign made us feel really happy.

Talking to them reminded us that everyone has their own problems, and it’s important to handle them in a healthy way, and especially reminded them that, they are not alone, and that there are people who care and are willing to listen.
