From Cebu to Bohol… Oops, Woke Up in Siquijor!

HELLO HIVERS!

Glad to be back on Hive! I've been busy with training over the past few weeks, but I finally have time to write a new article. Even though I've been away, I have plenty of photos to share soon!

WORKING ON MY TRAININGS..

In my last post, I shared that I got hired here in Cebu. Last January 31 was our last day of work for this phase, and we’ll be back by Monday, February 6. We just finished our first training and made it as one of the graduates—congrats to me! Next week, we’re moving on to another set of training.

Out of 12 trainees, only 1 wasn't able to make it.

Since we have 4 days off, I decided to go home to Bohol last January 31 evening. After our event wrapped up at 6 PM, I went home to grab some things and headed straight to the port around 8:30 PM. Unfortunately, Lite Shipping’s 10 PM trip was fully booked. I checked other options and found that Starlite had a 9 PM trip available.

Economy class was full, so I paid ₱720 for a tourist seat.

Tired from the day’s mock calls and event, I boarded, messaged my partner that I’d arrive at the pier by 2 AM, and went straight to sleep.

Moral of the story? Always double-check where your ship is headed before sleeping soundly!

Fast forward to 5 AM—I woke up, and the vessel was *still moving*. Confused, I stepped outside to check. To my surprise… we were about to arrive in *Siquijor*! Yes, Siquijor.

HELLO, SIQUIJOR unexpectedly!🤣

What was supposed to be a smooth trip to Bohol turned into an unexpected adventure when I accidentally dozed off and woke up in a completely different destination—**Siquijor.**

At first, I panicked, realizing my mistake, but as I stepped off the ferry, I was greeted by a sight so breathtaking that my worries faded instantly.

What started as a mistake quickly turned into an opportunity to explore a place I had never planned to visit.

As the ferry docked in Siquijor, I was immediately captivated by the island’s raw beauty. The water near the pier was so clear that I could see the seabed, with small fish swimming gracefully beneath the surface. Palm trees lined the shore, and the island's tranquil atmosphere made it feel like a secret paradise.

This unexpected detour was a reminder that sometimes, the best adventures come unplanned.

Instead of stressing over missed plans, I embraced the serendipity of the moment—ready to discover the magic of Siquijor, an island known for its mysticism, waterfalls, and stunning beaches. But it doesn’t end there.😅

SIQUIJOR BOUND TO MISAMIS OCCIDENTAL

Arrived at Oroquieta, Misamis!

Yes, you heard it right!
Here's my trip goes:

  • Dock in Bohol at 2 AM
  • Sail from Bohol to Siquijor:
    3 AM to 6 AM
  • Head from Siquijor to Misamis:
    8 AM to 2 PM
  • Return from Misamis to Siquijor:
    3 PM to 9 PM
  • Finally, travel from Siquijor back to Bohol: 10 PM to 2 AM

Bohol, FINALLY!

Bohol, I'm finally on my way! Arrived in February 2, 2015, Sunday!🎉🎊

WHAT ABOUT FOOD?

I didn’t expect the staff to be so accommodating—they even provided complimentary meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Although I had a long journey that day, I definitely won’t be repeating it. You might be wondering why I didn’t disembark at Siquijor; the reason is that there wasn’t a return trip to Bohol that day—the next one was only available the following day. So, I decided to stay on board since there was no extra charge.

I forgot to take photo for dinner meal.

MORAL OF THE STORY

My unplanned trip's lesson is that sometimes unexpected detours in life lead to surprises and hidden comforts. These unexplored routes can lead to unforgettable experiences, real kindness, and unexpected benefits that enhance our journey much beyond our initial expectations, even when things don't go as planned.

Above all, BE MINDFUL WITH YOUR DESTINATION. ❤️

See you next post!🎊🎉

I'll be really too scared if that happens to me. Especially I am too shy to even ask people if I ever needed a help. But you, whoa, you really know what you're doing. Napanatili and calmness and even take that as an opportunity to just enjoy and explore it. Just whoa.

Thank you! I do appreciate that.❤️❤️
