My name is Jeffry Tolero. I just turned 17 years old last November 19, 2024. I am a grade 11 student at an institution in the Northern part of Cebu. My journey as a teenager was marked by a deep commitment to faith and a desire to make a difference in my society and myself.
I am the youngest in our family, and I have 2 brothers. I was born in the City of Bogo, Cebu. I am currently studying at Libertad National High School, where I am pursuing the strand Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMMS). I chose this strand which is aligned with my chosen career and will enable me to enhance my skills to become a good teacher someday since this is my ambition in God’s will and perfect timing.
For almost 1 year and still counting, I have been serving as an Altar Server at the Archdiocesan Shrine of Saint Vincent Ferrer.
I am committed to my service since this is my way of paying back to the goodness of the almighty God for the many blessings receive every day. He is my source of strength to continue being such a good person wherever I go. I am also a responsible leader to my fellow members. I am selfless in my decision. Selfless in a way that I am concerned more with the needs and wishes of others than with my own. I usually give my best in everything I think that these happening in my life will never happen again. Through these happenings in my life, I am beyond grateful for this opportunity for me to grow as an individual who is forming myself to become a better person.
Hobbies:
If you’re going to ask what is my favorite hobby, my answers would be studying and playing online games.
Every time I have vacant hours, I usually manage my time reading my notes to recall my lessons so that during the final examination I will just slightly review my notes since some lessons are already in my mind.
I am the kind of person who chooses to be with friends, rather than being lonely. If I was drained with a lot of challenges and problems in life, including academics, and family problems, I used to hang out with friends going to different places to heal all my worries. I usually share my problems with my friends to get a bit of advice from them. And with that, I can gain valuable knowledge from them and use it in my daily life.
When everything goes fine, I play online games like Mobile Legends and Call of Duty, which could be my kind of bonding with my friends, my churchmates, and my classmates. This is our way to connect while we are in our different homes. Playing online games can help me heal from the different struggles I'm facing.
I also love praying the Holy Rosary because when I am praying, I am reminded that I am not alone in this journey and that I have God who is willing to help me no matter what things go on with me. This could inspire me to continue even when life gets harder. Rosary is my source of strength where I will be able to face the different errands and battles in my life. I learn to stand in my way during times of difficulties. This can teach me how to be brave at all times and how to be kind even if people are hurting me.
Someone introduced me to Hive. He is one of my companions in the church who is willing to help in everything he does.
He is my brother, not by blood, but I consider him my true brother. He is very caring to me, he is the one who reminds me of the importance of studying. He usually gets angry if I do not do well in my academics since he values the academics in his life, and his name is @junnyjun.
He always taught me how to be brave at all times, knowing that if I knew what I was doing, I would not be afraid to sit out and voice out what was right. He told me that the only thing you should do here on Hive is to share or write your day-to-day experiences in life so that you can inspire your readers with your writings. Since I also love writing I responded and said how to start. And with that, she added me to the group chat and said just wait for the orientation for you to know what are the things you should do there. A lot of things you consider that's not just for your benefit but the benefit of everybody who is there on the platform. He even reminded me to show respect to everyone.
During the Orientation:
I even joined the orientation with Ms.@jeanmazing.
She taught us everything in Hive, and I've learned a lot while listening to her. From the moment she discussed the importance of Hive and the things you are going to do to not violate the platform. She also inspired me about what truly hive is and made me so curious about this platform. She even taught us to be friendly to everyone to stay connected with each other. I was very thankful to her for giving time and effort to discuss the importance of this platform to understand really what Hive is. Now, I can boost my confidence to write what’s on my mind since I'm not a showy person and I usually express my feelings through writing.
I can contribute to this community by using my knowledge, time, and skills to help also those individuals who are afraid to write due to discrimination. I will be their role model to stand out that it is okay to make a mistake in writing since it is a way to learn and grow. And I’m also their supporter without harming them in my words and to make them experience that they are not alone in this journey that they have me as their companion to not discriminate against every individual. I value respect since this is my way of expressing my kindness wherever I go. I'm always here to support every individual.
I wanted to join this platform to make and write a new story that could help every individual to inspire and learn from my writings. It is also my way to express my day-to-day basis. I know to myself that I’m not good at writing but I will promise to be kind in my words. I know that this platform will help me to boost my confidence in writing. This will be my stepping stone to enhance my skills in writing. We should not be afraid to make a mistake; instead, I should accept it and take it that these things happen for a purpose and a reason and could help me to grow. I aim to inspire and motivate everyone positively by reading my blogs.
For now, this will be the end of my Introduction Blog. I hope you learn from my short stories about me.
