Good day, my dear Hivers! @itsmemic once again.
Planning and Gathering Materials
It was actually Monday afternoon, after class, when we decided to start working on our project for tomorrow’s first subject.
After our class, I asked my groupmates if we needed to contribute anything since other groups had already planned ahead. When I asked, they replied that they hadn’t discussed it yet. A few minutes later, we gathered together, and our group leader asked if anyone had newspapers at home since that was the main material needed for our project. Fortunately, one of our members said that their parents love reading newspapers every day and have them delivered to their house.
At first, our group leader asked where we should work on the project so that we could finish it quickly in the morning. We hesitated because most of us live far from each other and would need to take a tricycle or bus to meet. That’s when we realized it would be best to work at our classmate’s house, where the newspapers were available. Since their house was within walking distance from school, we agreed and headed there.
Unexpected Delays and Snack Breaks
As we were about to leave, our leader suddenly remembered that the glue we needed was left at the office where she works. So, she went back to get it while we waited. In the meantime, the rest of us discussed what other materials we needed and contributed money to buy them.
Since the house was nearby, we decided to walk to save money. However, two of our groupmates went ahead and didn’t take the usual turn. It turned out they went to buy snacks! Since I was also hungry, I joined them.
A little later, as we continued walking, some of our members stopped again to buy bananas, so I decided to buy some too because I was still hungry.
Starting the Project
Eventually, we arrived at the house and immediately started soaking the newspapers while we still had time.
We kept laughing throughout the process because our group members kept playfully ordering our leader around. Our group leader, the one who wears glasses, didn’t pressure us at all while working. We just kept talking and laughing about life and school while making progress on our project.
The newspapers in the basin had to be torn into smaller pieces so we could easily form them into circles. We were making 3D structural models of alkanes using these materials.
A Fun and Productive Day
Surprisingly, we didn’t feel stressed while working. We were too busy chatting and having fun that we didn’t even realize we were almost done with our tasks for the day.
And that’s all, my dear Hivers! Thank you for reading!
