Finally, workdays are over! Well, not totally as we still have to render overtime during the weekend- but that's for another story. This week was quite hectic for us accountants since we need to close year end books of our handled companies.
Most people who went to their hometown over the holidays are finally returning to the city, bringing with them some pasalubongs and delicacies from their province.
These goodies are from Zamboanga, brought by one of our managers. I made sure to grab some coffee sachet, biscuits, and these white rabbit candies which is my childhood favorite.
I then headed to the office pantry to indulge the goodies. Coincidentally, one of my officemates bought some pancit Canton from the nearby grocery and decided to cook them in the microwave. It's actually one of our first few times cooking in the office microwave so we try to be very careful.
In the afternoon, we were all caught up with lots of paperwork's and meetings that time flies so fast. I also had an early clock in and out of the office starting yesterday so I could attend the last Novena mass at Sto Nino church. My officemates and I plan to attend the Novena after work. When the clock strikes 5 in the afternoon, we hurriedly pack our things, ready to clock out.
This is our office lobby- the exact same place I sat sometime last year waiting for my final interview. I remember thinking how huge their office was. Plus the office pantry looks like a legit coffee shop with free brewed coffee. I thought it was cool.
When everyone was ready, we all went to the church together. Unfortunately it rained heavily that evening and we didn't have any umbrella. So we look for a nearby establishment that has an extended roof enough to cover us from the rain. From there is where we listened to the homily of the priest.
Through this, I realized, that the devotees of Sto Nino has unwavering love for the church. Despite how crowded and inconvenient it was that night, thousands of people still attended the mass and complete the 9 days Novena.
Second day of the Novena was a success!
That's it for today's blog. See you in my next one!
Sending some love and light
With love,
Jane
Your office's pantry looks cozy and fancy at the same time. It looks more like a classy restaurant than just a simple pantry. Cool. Anyway, your colleagues is very thoughtful to bring sweets and delicacies.
Wonderful day passed indeed.
