These days have been very hectic. Deadlines are fast approaching so we have to render additional work hours just to finish our tasks. This went on for almost everyday. So, to recharge my energy, I took a half day vacation leave and went to watch a movie with my friend.
There's this Japanese festival that offers free movies in the theatre for a consecutive 7 days. My friend is a huge fan of the Japanese culture. Movies, Kdrama, manga, sushi, you name it, she likes it. So she went to the mall everyday, after work, just to watch atleast 1 movie that is part of the Japanese festival. I only went to see the Japanese movie, once.
We watched the movie Matched, scheduled at 4pm. It's a thriller movie that talks about using dating apps to find love. Rinka, the main character of the movie, works in a wedding facilitator company and is already in her late 20s. The story unfolds when she met a match from the dating app and how it connects with the past affair of his father. Note though, I find some part of the movie weird, like the guy he met in the app acted really peculiar and creepy, yet due to circumstances, they still found a way to see each other.
"People have many faces. So does your family."
This is one of the quote that made a lasting impression to me.
There are other movies people can opt to watch for free, but on weekends, it's best to book a ticket (still for free but you just need to pay a convenient fee for the transaction) since it is expected to be crowded on weekends.
In all honestly, I only choose the movie because it's the only movie that fits my schedule. But if I were to choose which movie I really want to watch, it's the "Our Secret Diary".
This event is sponsored by Japan Foundation and is held in the Philippines annually. I will try to watch more movies in next year's Japanese Festival.
That's it for today's blog. See you in my next one!
Sending some love and light
With love, Jane
