Yesterday, I received a notification from Facebook reminding me that it's the day of my first ever hike. I can't believe it's been a year already and so much have changed. I must say I've come out stronger.
So I thought of dedicating a post compiling my hikes and mountains conquered for the past year.
1. Starbuks Banawa
My first ever hike is at Starbucks Banawa. I'm not quite sure if this is the official name of the mountain but it's popularly known as "Starbuks" for locals because at the peak of the hiking trail, you will see a signage of Starbuks. Hikers usually rest a bit in this place, have a warm cup of coffee, and enjoy the overlooking view.
This company activity was memorable to me because I was just new to the company and I didn't have anyone to go with me to this trip. But with courage, I joined this voluntary event and found new friends and acquaintances.
2.Mt Kang Irag
My second hike was at Mt Kang Irag. Despite being tag as one of the beginner friendly hikes, this was the most challenging hike for me. My legs and feet were shaking by the end of the hike. Adding to the difficulty was the fact that the trails were slipper from the rain. Looking back, I thought to myself, one wrong step, I'll really get injured. And thankfully, I came home safe.
3. Mt Mago
And last but definitely not the least, my recent hike to Mt Mago. This, for me, was the easiest among the three. Or have I improved my stamina? I hope so. I remember during this day, the rain was pouring so hard and we were all soaking wet with no extra shirt. This was a different kind of experience that I will surely cherish.
I hope to join more hikes this year and that's for sure.
