Happy New Year, my dear Hivers! How's your holiday so far? I hope you had a joyous holiday. For some people, new year means a chance to do better- may it be at work, relationships, and life in general. Its a beautiful concept of hope.
2 hours before the clock strike 12 midnight, we went to our neighborhood church to offer some prayers. Coincidentally, a mass was about to start so we decided to attend the mass all together instead.
30 minutes before the clock strike 12, my family members and I were still rushing to tidy things up- washing the remaining dishes, preparing a bowl full of circle shaped fruits, and placing 13 coins into an empty can for us to shake loudly during the new year's eve.
My brother opened the TV to wait for the countdown. My other sibling played Christmas music on Youtube just for the sake of feeling in more of the festivity. For our media noche, we only prepared a few chips, excess circle shaped fruits, and some biscuits. All of us also changed into red sleep wears to match the occasion.
And 10..9..8..7..As soon as we heard the count down on TV, everyone quickly dropped everything their doing, grabbed the can of coins (each of us have one), went outside to see the fireworks and made some noise. Every corner of our house must be noisy to remove negativity.
There's also this trend on social media where people eat 12 grapes at exactly 12 midnight for good luck and love. I saw my sister joining the trend hoping for luck and love in the coming year ahead.
After our simple celebration, we went to bed and said our good nights. Everyone is excited for January 1st!
That's it for today's blog. See you in my next one!
Sending some love and light
With love, Jane
