Strategic Moves of Life: Navigating Challenges – A Newbie's Self-Introduction

Who Am I?

Good day, Hivers! I’m John Fritz Alegarbes 22 years of age 3rd-year college student pursuing a Bachelor of Science Information Technology in Cebu Technological University Naga Extension Campus (CTU-NAGA). I hold the position of the second son among three siblings in my family, and it's worth noting that our family consists of three brothers, with no sisters.

Despite the challenges that occasionally befall us, our family maintains a simple yet joyful atmosphere, finding contentment amidst any problems that may arise. Allow me to introduce them individually since we lack a collective family photograph.

This is my mother and father; I am extremely happy because they are my parents who have raised me well, instilling in me proper values and respect for others. My father started as a motorcycle mechanic, sometimes working as a welder. Meanwhile, my mother took on the role of a housewife, and I am delighted that we are healthy and still a complete family. Surprisingly, we don't have a family photo because it's not a usual thing for us. Despite the absence of a family picture, our love keeps us connected.

This is my older brother; his name is Lourd Vincent Alegarbes, and he was born on December 24, 1998. We weren't very close because we used to have frequent arguments over trivial matters. However, things have changed now that we are adults. Looking back, there were times when both of us would run away and go to our grandmother's house to stay, even though we used to fight a lot. I've come to realize the deep love I have for my siblings.

This is my younger brother; his name is Kim Daryl Alegarbes, and he was born on January 2, 2006. My younger brother identifies himself as an introvert, and it bothers me because I worry that he might be dealing with problems alone, and I don't want him to go through that. I hope he finds a friend who can bring him out of his shell, as introverted people often value deep connections. As his big brother, I genuinely love him, and I want to keep an eye on him. I don't want to miss a chance to show how much I care for my younger brother.

Hobbies and Interest

My story is not very nice, but I want to share what I have experienced from before until now. I remember back in my elementary days when my school was close to my house, but I would still end up being late. At that time, my allowance was only 2 to 5 pesos, sometimes none, but with 2 to 5 pesos, I felt it was a big amount for me. One time, I spent all my allowance on playing a game called “bonut pad.” The rule was simple – if you got a number lower than 41, you won a prize.

While playing, my constant hope was to win delicious junk food as a reward. Another time, I played similar for the prize chicks, and I was happy because the chicks had different colors. However, this experience taught me a valuable lesson – not to waste money on games where luck determines the outcome. In the end, if you're not lucky, you might lose your chance to have food. And now it’s time to share my favorite sports in elementary and why I chose this instead of the other sports that I tried.

In fifth grade, I attempted to join the badminton team, but I didn't make it because I didn't pass the tryout. In sixth grade, I took up chess. Our teacher taught us how to play, and from that day on, I fell in love with the game. Learning chess made me smile, and I found it truly awesome. I remember during Playday from elementary, but in high school, it's called “Intramurals Day”. It was my first time competing, and I felt both nervous and excited. Our teacher said only the first and second-place winners would move on to the city competition called Palarong Panlungsod, but I ended up in third place. I felt a bit sad, but I was also happy because, at least, I gave it a try.

In high school, during Intramurals Day in grade 9, I decided to join the competition again. In grades 7 and 8, I was more focused on enjoying things like watching movies and avoiding being caught by the "movers" to stay out of the jail booth, which had a bad smell due to a stinky egg placed inside to encourage people to pay a fee for their release.

Now, let’s talk about chess. Trying the competition again made me excited and nervous. I won the first games, leading to the final match. Winning the championship made me proud. Walking on stage during the awards was exciting and proud. After that, my high school teacher chose me to represent the school in the city-wide competition, Palarong Panlungsod, and I was happy about it.

On the day of the Palarong Panlungsod competition, I was very excited. From what I can recall, I didn't win enough matches to be one of the top individuals, but I was still happy because our team got third place. Even though we didn't win in individual games, being part of a team gave us another chance to succeed. That day taught me not to be too focused on winning, but to enjoy the competition and love the game of chess. If we don't make it to the top individually, we shouldn't lose hope, and with practice and training, maybe next time things will go our way. Finishing high school was a great experience, and I'm thankful that my journey in high school is now a part of my happy memories.

During my second year in college, I participated in a competition at my school. I won first place, and my teacher suggested I try out at the CTU Main Campus, where our school is just an extension. Unfortunately, during the tryout there, I only ranked 6th, and it made me a little sad because I wanted to compete in the Tri-Meet (also known as Triangular Meet). Despite this, I felt proud that I gave my best effort. This experience motivated me to participate in the competition again.

During this event, I discovered my limits and learned that many people are good at chess. Even though I wasn't lucky, I'm so happy that chess has become a part of my life. That's my journey with playing chess. Thank you for reading, and now I'll share my life experiences.

We are not rich but I’m happy that I experienced nothing having this situation gives me motivation in my life. Yeah During Elementary I tried to become a reseller of bread in my school and the owner of it was my teacher every bread I have a commission and that commission I use as my allowance during school I still sell but my product is called Peñato In my grade seven I was so happy that I gained enough to buy what I want.

photo1706519514.jpeg

During grade eight I stopped selling and I have an experience that I will never forget do you know the gamble game lucky nine? Yes that game gave me an important lesson when we caught our teacher, and my teacher sent us to the principal office on that day I was crying because I didn’t want to have a record and I was afraid that my parents would know my doings and their perspective I was a good student because during elementary until grade 7 I was top honor. After that happened I realized to stop doing gamble things because gambling can turn you into a miserable life also I realized that I not waste my parents’ tuition in my school because sometimes they hard to find to pay my tuition because I’ve experienced I can’t exams because my parents not already of it and sometimes my father came to school to have a promise sorry note. I was thankful that my parents supported me even if we did not have enough money. After that happened I experienced it again in guidance.

In my first semester of college, I achieved my dream of buying a cellphone and a motorcycle with my own money. The story behind it involves trying out a networking site called Freecit. I started on November 11 and by December, my income increased. This type of networking site required an initial investment, and I remember starting with 1200 on November 11. In December, I invited my friends and relatives to join because the site allowed withdrawals every day, and the tasks involved watching videos. On December 16, Typhoon Odette came, affecting my networking activities.

I had to travel 38 kilometers to find a signal. Facing difficulties, I came up with a plan. I decided to pay someone, my subordinate, to do the networking tasks for me, and I'm thankful she accepted. In January, my income increased further as my downlines reached almost a thousand due to posting a video on YouTube and having many interactions. However, in February, the networking site shut down, and the owner disappeared. Fortunately, I was happy to have enough savings, so I used them to buy a motorcycle and a cellphone.

In my third year, I explored additional income opportunities by selling load and engaging in GCash transactions, such as cashing in and cashing out. This extra income helped me have some additional allowance.

Welcome to Hive @johnfritz246!
It's nice to see someone responsible in your age. The hardships you've experienced taught you well. Continue to have a grateful heart to your family, it will be rewarded someday.
Maybe you can also invite your younger brother to Hive so he can express himself. Maybe he's comfortable with talking to strangers online than offline.

And by the way, hope you'll join us in HivePH discord server.

Thank you @wittyzell, I don't know how to invite him but I will try thanks🤍

You can just let @intoy.bugoy take care of him. 😊
