Introduction Post - it's Joyce Day!

Authored by @Joyce Day

Hello, I am Joyce. This is my first blog. I am a newbie here. I am a wife and a mother of two. I have a little girl who will turn four in November and 2.6 years old baby boy. Sometimes I am a parent and sometimes I am a referee (haha if you know what I mean).

My husband is an American and he is a musician. He plays saxophone. He also writes songs and produce them. We have a dog named Mickey. He is gonna be thirteen years old in December. Yes, he is a senior citizen. He is an American bully and he is the sweetest and the most gentle dog.

I was doing backpacking in my home country. I've been in 35 provinces in the Philippines and hopefully to visit more. This picture below was in Cagayan De Oro, Philippines. I did white river rafting with my sister Vem. It was scary but so much fun.
905651_10205950410494046_5233230620082828541_o.jpgI’ve also been to Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand with my mom and three sisters. We were there for vacation and it was a great time.

I was an Enlisted Personnel in the Philippine Air Force. They are my officemates that I really miss so much.
1526410_10202458468397676_1353559652970460229_n.jpgAnd yes, I was a soldier for nine years and three months. I can actually stay for at least eleven more years so I can get pension when I retire but at that moment I feel like I don’t belong anymore. I loved my job and it is not like I was not happy or what but I feel like I want to do something else outside the military.

When I was working I thought it is easier to be a stay-at-home-mom and be a full time mother and be with your children and watch them grow and now being a mom myself for four years I came to a realization that the real truth isn’t. But know it is also a job. I think being a mother is tougher job than my job before.

You are working with these little people, little human beings. Who does not know about anything yet. It is like you are a teacher and a care giver in the same way and at the same time you are a real mother to them. Nurturing them all day. I love being a mom, I love my beebees (as my husband and I call them sometimes) and for sure I would not change a thing.

So why am I here?

I have a friend who is in France now who encouraged me to write. She is also here, check her out @itravelrox. She is a very good friend of mine. I miss her. We did camping together before and did lots of things. We are still in touch and I am very glad. Can't wait to see her again. This is our last picture together when we were both in the Philippines. Thank you for introducing me to the Hive platform Roxy.

I have another good friend here but unfortunately we don’t speak to each other anymore which is sad. I hope she is doing good and hope our path will cross again.

I was hesitant to write at first but hey I just turned 35 last month and so I thought why not, would be great to do something new in my life aside from doing same routine everyday. Also, I like trying new things. There will be days I will write and share my thoughts and experiences about motherhood, marriage, travel, cooking and life in general. To my readers, I hope you will find my stories interesting and worth reading and that you will stay :) See you around! Cheers!!!

You're amazing @joyceday! Your first upvotes on Hive are a great accomplishment. Keep up the fantastic work!

I think being a parent is one of the hardest jobs since you are being responsible for another human being. Not just financially, their health and some other stuff, but having to actually teach them the most basic things from walking to abcs to maths and eventually being a good human being to dating and adult life. You’re not just a provider, carer, but you’re also going to be a teacher and you’re supposed to know A LOT to be able to teach them things. In my opinion it is more stressful than any other jobs lol but rewarding for sure.

Welcome to Hive!

I agree. Thank you!

Welcome to Hive └( ^ω^)」

Whoa, you are really beautiful in your uniform. Sad that you have to let go of being a soldier but if you are happy right now with your life then all goods. And yes, being a mother is really tougher, I am not a mother yet but seeing my friends become one, I thought to myself, I don't want to be mother. It looks scary and hard ಥ_ಥ haha. But salute to all the mother out there coz, kaya, kinakaya at kakayanin pa nila ang maging mother (◍•ᴗ•◍).

Anyways, Enjoy hiving └( ^ω^)」

Thank you. Yes, I am a happy mama and wife ❤️

Hello, @joyceday! whoa, honestly I'm amazed that you can raise your two children who are still under 5 years old. It's never easy, even though many people always look down on someone who doesn't work. As you said, the true job is being a mother. sharing on Hive can be a good pastime for you. you can start with Motherhood community; or with your daily cooking in Foodies Bee Hive community.
