Thingking about my blog and blogging in general. Should I stick to the plan or not? Do you?

*Writing is fairly straightforward: we think about what to write, do a little research, create an outline, write the main points and place it in the outline you've created, read and edit your draft, proofread and finalize your write-up, put an awesome title on top while adding an attention grabbing image. Then, voila! You've just created content to publish. But as we all know, we get caught up in other things aside from the process. Sure, people have their own writing process but it all involves the steps outlined here in one way or another.

It's a quiet Monday, and I'm loving it. Everyone had gone out so I get to spend some quality time on #Hive and half a day of peace and quiet. LOL. I personally like seeing what my online friends have put out in their blogs and finding out what's going on in their lives. As you all know, life online let's us see how others are doing whether we respond to it or not. Reacting is an option, but not required. Reading about these things let's us take a peek at their life, mindset and ideas without having to interact with them, if we choose not to. And depending on your moods and interest, you can choose which ones to pay more attention to.

Personal Smorgasbord

If I had to describe my own blog content, it is this: a personal smorgasbord of stories and ideas coming out of my imagination and life experiences: it's a personal blog. Sometimes, we share deeply personal stories, which resonates with others. Food, places and events are some of the most common topics our audience can relate to. I share a lot about personal finance because I want to be able to dictate and decide when I will retire. Not some random retirement age chosen a century ago when I may, or may not, even want to stop working. Who says you have to retire at 65 years old? Sure, this is the mandatory age of retirement for government employees and private firms, but do we want to wait that long? What if I wanted to retire at 50 years old (or younger?!), is that even possible?

Blog Planning

I have an on and off relationship with blog planning. Sometimes I do work on something that I've planned, but most of the time, I just go with the flow. Because I am not strict on this, I have gotten a mixture of flavors and content that only I would be doing. Well, this can be good because the "experts" do say to create original content. And, what could be more original than this: food I eat, things I watch online, personal finance, music, short stories, coffee, plant-based food, etc. My thing is me. This is what I do on a daily basis. That's original. To. Me. But, is it something that other people will gravitate to and consume? I hope so.

In as much as I want my blog to be a hit and viral success, this is not really how things work here on-chain. Our content gets upvoted by curators, whether big or small account, on their perceived value of said content. For me, handing out 100% upvote is easy because my 0.02 upvote is next to nothing, but for big accounts who are able to shell out $100 upvotes. Well, they have to be more discerning about where they point their upvote guns.

Going back to my topic, I think that having a plan is good. It allows us to see what is possible. It sets us up to anticipate whatever it is that the creative mind crafts. It puts a realistic perspective to the artistic side of writing. We are all artist here. If you have written fiction or non-fiction here on the blockchain, then I consider you to be artists in your own right. And unless you've used AI to write your piece, then it is art.

Conclusion

So, to answer the question I put forth in the title. Yes. I will be sticking to the plan, which is to write what comes naturally through the subconscious. Because this is what makes my blog unique and original. And those two are the cornerstone of my identity here on the blockchain. Put another way, "to write from the heart". Because people respond to what is authentic and real. In fiction, genuine feelings and ideas embellished with words that stand out to capture one's imagination. Stories that can transform us to the place of the characters and make us believe for a moment that we are the characters in the story we are reading. Hopefully, my audience will resonate with this and have fun while reading.

And that's is for today's blog. Mondays are great as it marks a new beginning of another chapter in our life. I appreciate the time you spent visiting my blog. Hope you are having a wonderful time. Stay safe and keep a steady heart whatever the day brings. Happy Monday everyone!

Love and peace,
@juanvegetarian

PS I was thinking of a contest to put in my blog, which I've seen others do, thinking of rewarding readers coming to my blog and engaging here. Is this a good idea? What's a good reward for engagement?I usually give pizza, luv and duo tips, but I feel that that isn't enough to show my gratitude.
