I had some time to spare for post processing images which I had not been able to edit so I'd like to share with you what I did for my little one's 3rd birthday.
It was only two months before his birthday that I decided to prepare a party as my husband's family decided to visit us here in Bohol and so I thought of the best way of making Matti's birthday extra special and that he would enjoy so much.
Of course, food was necessary so I immediately looked for one which would cater food for us. I found Herbs offers lechon package so I decided getting it and I also ordered some sweets online and rented a chocolate fountain which I did the previous year from a neighbor friend. I also ordered the cake beforehand, I always like minimalistic cakes so I just searched online for some green and blue ombre cake.
As for the decoration, I just ordered everything online and I am so glad that some of our church friends helped me out on the day of the celebration.
Because I got super busy on the day of his birthday, I forgot to take photos of the entire preparation. But as you can see on the images below, these were just pastel green balloons of different sizes and I got a little frustrated putting it up because it was hard, DIY-er problems but I just settled to this instead. I know it could have been better, I guess I should hire a professional designer next time.
Here's my father and mother with Matti while below is my husband's parents. They traveled with the entire family from Oslob but the kids were sleeping when the party started so we weren't able to take photos of everyone together.
And so the program started, I am glad and grateful to my churchmate and friend Shane for hosting the event. I am so grateful to her energy and her enthusiasm as she handled the event. Also, my niece was very helpful too during the event, she packed those goodies and helped me set up the food and the table.
The first part of the birthday celebration was the kids party, there was dinner after but at this point, we kicked off the party with some birthday messages to the birthday boy who wasn't listening, tehee. Actually, he was already very excited with the inflatable slide which I rented so the kids could enjoy the whole afternoon playing there.
My father first gave his wishes and prayers for Matti. Then a few more people gave their messages including my mother in law, my mom, some of the young people in church, and friends.
And then the next part was the games. Our first game was the trivia question and answer. So I gave Shane a few trivias about Matti and the audience has to give their guesses or answers. It was actually fun!
Then, the next part was the game for the youth. The kids had to sit on their chairs and watch the young ones play. The easy game was very easy but as always fun to play with, it's called Head-shoulders-knees-toes- GET! The goal was to grab the item on the floor once the host says GET. Look at their faces while playing the game:
Told you it was super fun! Everyone were happy and had truly enjoyed the said game. The winner was Ate Jess of course who was very enthusiastic, the winner won a snack pack! I guess the prize was not that very important though because they all had so much fun!
And now comes the game for everyone - longest Happy Birthday! I bet you are all aware of this game. The longest Happy Birthday wins! Kuya ZM started the challenge and then the kids went on and then the adults, the parents, even the grandparents joined the fun!
Miya on the left and Amara on the right!
Gecell, my sister-in-law
Ate Mae, my sister-in-law
That's Ate Abby!
Achi Aiesha on the left and Dave on the right side.
That's Ate Alzy, she's still very sweet even while saying the longest happy birthday!
Here comes Alboy!
Mommies taking on the challenge: my highschool friend, Reina, Ate Leah on the center, and Vangie, a churchmate.
Here's Jessa, another churchmate.
And the winner was Ate Mae! Congratulations ate! The record was around 25 seconds!
The kids group photo came next! They were all looking at the inflatable slides which I asked the guys to set up! Everyone's excited!
But before that, it's time for the birthday boy to blow his candle! He didn't get to make any wishes before blowing but sure he loved per the photos below.
And down to the last two games. These are the traditional Filipino games during birthdays called "Pabitin". There are snack packs hanging and the kids will then be picking the items from there once the pabitin is being pushed down to their level. They'll then have to jump if the pabitin is pulled up. It was fun because the parents helped the kids reach the pabitin!
I don't know about you but even if the snack packs were just simple items, they were still having so much fun as well as the adults or parents! Looking at these photos make me think of doing this again.
The last game was the "Pukpok Palayok" and so the blindfolded kids will be turned around for a few times and then they'll have a chance to hit the palayok or the clay pot once. The first one who offered herself to start was Ate Amari! She's a brave little girl but she wasn't able to get it to break.
Then Amara went the next one but she didn't get to break it too. Only the boy wearing stripes was able to hit it wide open. You know what happened next as the kids started picking up from the ground the candies which were from the palayok!
While the other kids were playing, these two below were also very happy playing with the inflatable. That's my nephew Seth and Matti!
Checking on my camera and the storage cards, I couldn't find any photos or videos of the inflatable slide and pool. I regret not documenting it because the kids were all enjoying, even my niece who was already in high school was also having fun!.
In fact, my little one was very happy with his bouncy castle. I hope that I will be able to afford a bigger version soon because Matti somehow can't forget about this even till this day.
After the games, the kids ate a heavy snack with crispy chicken and spaghetti on the options. After the snack, the kids then played at the bouncy castle or the inflatable slides. They played their hearts out and stopped only when it was almost dark.
Found this from my phone:
For Matti's 4th birthday, I am hoping to share our blessings with the kids around us who are on the streets. We plan on cooking spaghetti and chicken Jollibee style and then will go around the town and the neighboring towns giving packed lunch and will eventually be sharing with them the good news of the gospel.
But for Matti's 3rd birthday, it was indeed an enjoyable day. In the evening, we just ate a lot that day, our pastor talked about a quick exhortation and then the adults had dinner after that.
