"Shaping My Story: A Journey at MinebeaMitsumi"

in Hive PH4 days ago

Good Day! Madlang Ka Hives! How's life treating you? It’s me again Juvs and I'm back with another blog post to share.

What can I share? I'm going to be sharing my story today as a production operator at MinebeaMitsumi Inc, covering topics such as hope, growth and teamwork. I hope my story inspires you to embrace new challenges and new experiences.

Let's get into it!

MinebeaMitsumi Inc. is located in Cantao-An, Naga City. Since "mi" can mean "beautiful," the name Mitsumi is likely to signify "beautiful light," that is symbolizing how it can brighten your life once you become part of their workforce.

Since the second semester has ended and it's already our vacation that time. That's why I've been looking for a summer job. I was eager to find a job to help my family out financially since my father is the only provider for the family works as a construction worker.

At first, I initially considered applying at Nustar, but I decided not to pursue it because it was far and also the transportation costs would be expensive. After several weeks of job hunting without success, I was getting frustrated that time.

One evening, my friend Shane messaged me about a job opening at Mitsumi’s office in Rikio, Inayagan, through the agency CGSI (Cebu General Services Inc.).

IMG_5271.jpeg
I went to apply the next day. The office was full of applicants. Surprisingly, a manager called me up, handed me a form, and invited me to take an exam. The first part was difficult, full of coding questions I didn’t understand, but the second part, which involved basic math problems, felt easier and I managed to answer most of them.

When the manager returned with a list of names, I was thrilled to see mine on it. We were then sent for a medical check-up in Minglanilla, which went smoothly. Afterward, we filled out the agreement forms even if the medical results are not yet in. But when the manager came out with the list of names of those cleared to start the next day, my name wasn’t on it. I felt a mix of emotions and disappointments.

I came home late, drenched from the rain and feeling down since I forgot my umbrella that night. But when I saw my mom’s cheerful face, I didn’t want her to feel worry, so I lied and told her I passed and the manager would call me soon. Deep down, though, I was crushed I gave all my best. Next is I immediately texted my friend Shane, she told me it might be because of my eyes. Yes, my eyes have a defect because they’re blurry. I can't see far clearly, but I’m fine up close. That’s when I found out that when applying to Mitsumi, your vision needs to be clear because the workers must use microscopes. My vision problem might have been the reason I didn’t make the cut.

In the next day, one of my friend that who was with me during the medical check-up messaged me, she explained that I was supposed to be included in their batch, but my medical result was delayed. However, they mentioned that I passed the medical check-up and ready to work. I was so happy when I read her message, after that, I prepared the things I need to bring on my first day at work.

With each step I take, I feel that every second is a fresh beginning filled with endless possibilities.
Here it is, my fellow hivers! June 26, 2024 I was hired. This day, I woke up feeling excited because I could finally start. I took a moment to thank God and looked up at the sky. The sunrise was beautiful, with the sky glowing in soft colors. It felt like the perfect way to begin something new.

This is it! Before we headed to the main company, MinebeaMitsumi Inc., we first went to the office of CGSI (Cebu General Services Inc.) in Rikio, Inayagan to take the attendance first.

Once we finished taking the attendance. We were given a form to bring in MinebeaMitsumi Inc.

As you can see, my fellow hivers, the lines were incredibly long, but I didn't mind. I relaxed and waited patiently on our service bus as we made our way to the destination.

And finally, here it is! My batchmates and I, the excited newbies, were ready to board. I couldn't contain my excitement when I scored the front seat!

The view along the way was breathtaking, especially since we were headed to a rural area surrounded by fields—it felt like something straight out of a movie.

When we arrived at MinebeaMitsumi. I was in awe of the stunning scenery. The place was spotless and the air was so fresh and crisp it instantly put me at ease.

“The beautiful scenery will surely leave you completely amazed.”

It was my first day, and the orientation was nothing short of fascinating. We delved into the heart of Mitsumi, uncovering all sorts of intriguing details about the company’s culture, values, and other operations. From the essential dos and don’ts to the critical rules of the production area, every piece of information felt like a puzzle coming together.

It was the perfect start to what I was confident would be an amazing and exciting experience. We weren't in uniforms that day; instead, we were all wearing simple white t-shirts, giving the setting a casual, almost fresh start vibe.

IMG_5183.jpeg

I also found myself surrounded by new friends, all of whom I’d be sharing this experience with. At that time, We were given our IDs and uniforms, marking the official start of our journey with a sense of belongingness.

As day passed by. I didn't expect to become close with the people I just met inside. It warms my heart I told myself that I'm not alone. A lot of wonderful things happened. It felt like we were siblings, sticking together from entering, heading to the canteen, and even when leaving — we were always together, as they say, no one gets left behind.

After a whole day of sitting and listening to the orientation. Once again, I found myself in line for the service bus, a quiet moment to reflect on the day as I waited to head home, ready to process everything I’d just learned.

When I finally got home late, the first thing that greeted me was the warm, cheerful smile of my mother that melts my heart.

My mom was absolutely over the moon about how my day turned out. And because of that, Mom took it upon herself to sew my uniform.

And ta-da! here it is, all perfectly stitched and showcasing just how incredibly supportive my mom.

Each new day brings a fresh start. From this view, I patiently wait for our service bus, ready to face whatever the workday brings.

Since the school year is fast approaching, I made the decision to resign for now, allowing me to focus entirely on continuing my education.

This is for todays blog. And with that, my journey of applying to MinebeaMitsumi comes to an end. I'm grateful for the opportunity to work as a production operator for such a fantastic organization. I'll remember the experiences I had the skills I learned and the connections I formed for the rest of my life. Every time spent there has left a mark that will continue to inspire me in the coming chapters of my life.

Once again, it's Juvs – a future educator at heart, but for now, embracing the role of a Production Operator. The journey may have taken a different turn, but every step is a part of the bigger picture, all leading towards the dream.
