On January 19, 2024 was my friend @itsmateo's birthday and due to certain circumstances he can't celebrate it with his family so we did! Along with fellow bloggers @tomilee, @tolitswritetime, @penflecto and some other classmates. It was friday and we only had class until the afternoon so after we ate we immediately packed our things to go to the sea which we would then celebrate his birthday.
But before we proceeded to go to the sea we first stopped by the Ilihan public market to buy somethings that we can eat. We bought some fish and and some other ingredients to make SINUGBANG ISDA and KINILAW which are both usually used to celebrate something here in the Philippines especially if you're low on budget😅. We also bought some snacks to satiate our hunger through the long ride. All was done but before we could proceed onto our destination @penflecto decided to stop by his house to change his clothes. And after some time he got back and took a quick picture of me😂. Then shortly after we left and headed to our destination.
We were running late on time because it was already almost 2 and we had to go back home before 5 but despite the rush the ride was a slow but safe one and along the way we got to appreciate mother nature's beauty so I guess it's a win-win. The ride was around 30ish minutes long and it didn't really felt THAT long as I was busy taking pictures and admiring how beautiful nature is. The path we took was from Ilihan to Tabogon then going to our destination BITOON GAMAY which translates to a Small Star in english.
Then after sometime and a little bit of walking we finally arrived at our destination at BITOON GAMAY. This is a popular tourist spot for once again, people who are on a budget😁. But even though I say that the beach itself despite being small is definitely not something we can just ignore especially for a beach with such a small scope of area. The scenery is so spectacular paired with the sound of the water when it hits the shore just makes it the more astonishing as it is. I just can't begin to fathom how such a small beach such as this be so beautiful despite it having such a small space. It's small area makes it a little bit secluded but I guess that's one of it's charms thus it's seclusion makes it all the better. Away from those urban shenanigans happening especially during these times. It is a suitable place to go to escape from reality even for just a brief moment.
But it can also be enjoyed by people who just likes to have the outmost fun of their life. You can bring a music box to the beach because as I said before the beach is a little bit secluded so there aren't that many houses nearby and some of those house are abandoned also take note that the sound of the water covers some of those sounds so you don't need to worry about disturbing the few people living there. The beach also offers a cliff with which you can jump as much as you like(though I don't recommend it if the waters are somewhat low as there could be nearby mid size or even huge rocks which could be fatal if you're not careful and can cause injuries or even immediate DEATH so please be careful if you were to visit this place.) We'll after all despite how different people's preferences may be a beach is still a beach and it's open for anybody willing to visit it. It is a gift the world granted us and we should make good use of it by not only enjoying but by also taking extra good care of it.
Once we finally settled down on a nearby cottage which a friend of @penflecto rented we proceeded to make our meal which is again the KINILAW and the SINUGBANG ISDA. Though I didn't capture the process of how we cooked as I was the one cooking the SINUGBANG ISDA so I didn't have time to take pictures as all of us we're all very angry from the ride earlier that day so... yeah😅. Time passed by and we we're done cooking all the delicacies but some couldn't take it and even before we could eat they jumped onto the waters and swam a little. Honestly speaking I would've jumped myself as well if I just wasn't the one cooking. But before I proceeded to eat I first snuck in some shots for blogging purposes then just joined them shortly after. As you can see here the birthday boy @itsmateo is eating to his heart's content which is really heartwarming since this is his day after all☺️.
And of course what purpose could there be that we decided to go to a beach than to swim? After we were done eating we rested and had a talk for a bit then shortly after we swum to our hearts content. But as they say all good things must come to an end so after we we're finally worn out from all those swimming and laughter we decided it was finally time to go back home as it was getting dark and @tolitswritetime still had to go fetch his brother from school.
But during our ride back home the birthday boy @itsmateo craved some ice cream and told us we should stop for a little bit and it was his treat so.... who would decline right? Though it was a little weird because it was his birthday and his the one treating us but he seemed happy about it so I guess letting something like this happen every now and then wouldn't hurt😋.
This day made me realize some things and one of them is how important having true friends who you can rely on really is. Now I know that they're not gonna be there for you all the time and THAT is a hard fact that we must accept but they'll definitely try their best to do so and this can come in different forms, physically or emotionally. But this time we helped him by celebrating his birthday with him in place for his family which we conveyed not just through physical contact but also by being there with him, emotionally.
