A GLIMPSE OF MICHAELA'S LITTLE WORLD; Self Introduction

A wonderful day, Hivers! Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! I am a new member, and I'm thrilled to be part of this community.

I am looking forward to sharing my thoughts, experiences, interests, and places that I have been to, reading about your whereabouts, and making friends with you all.

ABOUT ME

Hi, I am Michaela but you can call me Mikay or Kyla—a 21-year-old residing in Liloan, Cebu. I am friendly and fun to be with when you get close to me, I love to explore new things when I'm bored and enjoy spending time with my family, friends, and loved ones, reading novels, and listening to music. I'm also a dog lover.

I love to take pictures of the sunset. Every time I see the sky so beautiful I get teary-eyed by how beautiful it is. I am currently taking a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management (BSHM) at Cebu Technological University - Danao Campus.

Short Family Background

I'm the youngest member of the family and have one sister and two brothers. They say I look just like my dad, and I think he might favor me a little! My dad used to travel to work as a technician. He always brought back special presents for us when he came home, which was always exciting. He was always on my side when my brothers teased me, which comforted me. He retired early and is now enjoying his senior years. My mom is a teacher, and she teaches eighth grade somewhere in Cebu City. They say your mom is your first teacher, and indeed she taught me all the important things in life! She's ready to retire, but she's waiting until I finish school. I'm so proud of her! She started teaching when she was young, and she helped her whole family escape poverty. She even taught her siblings how to be successful in life. She's an amazing woman.

Interest/Hobbies

When I'm feeling bored, I love to paint by number. It's relaxing. While I'm painting, I don't think about anything stressful, I can forget my problems and anything drama in life. Sometimes it can be frustrating because some of the numbers are so tiny, and it's hard to paint them neatly.

But once I finish, it looks amazing! It's so very cutesy, very relaxing, very eye-catching, and makes me feel good. I'm always proud of myself when I'm done painting it. It's like accomplishing something unbelievable for me to do.

I am fond of playing mobile games such as Mobile Legends, Call of Duty, cookery games, and more. Playing games together has helped me get closer to my cousins. We've been close, great friends since the pandemic began. I'm grateful for these games since they helped us connect and have an enjoyable relationship with one another. I wouldn't be as close to my cousins without these. It's like having cousins, best friends, and a sister in one frame. I enjoy spending time playing games with them because it allows me to forget about all of my problems and makes me very happy that we were able to bond. We've even met other people through gaming. I got to know their friends, and they got to know mine. It's as if playing games together has given us a whole new group of friends.

I’ve always loved reading novels when I was a kid and up until now I still read novels. I started reading e-books when I was in my elementary days, and then in high school, I discovered the app Wattpad. Wattpad is an app that has different stories about fiction, non-fiction, fantasy, etc. I remember sneaking off to read under my blanket at night so my mom wouldn't catch me but I know sometimes she can catch me still awake in the middle of the night but I continue reading. When I got interested in a story, I'd lose track of time and be surprised when it was almost morning! My mom always wondered why I was waking up so late.

One day, I got inspired to write my own story on Wattpad. I published it, but I kept it private and deleted it after a while because I wasn't sure if anyone would like it, and I wasn't very confident in my writing.

But because of the hive, I was eager to write and share with other people the places that I have been, my interests, and the daily happenings of my life. I want to share the best moments of my life here in Hive. As a person who loves cafe hopping, I might share it here in my future blogs. Thanks to @renacris who introduced me to the hive and gave me the motivation that I can write with no judgment. I can be confident and write freely because no one's gonna judge me, I can share my thoughts, and the pictures that I take to help me remember the place and have a remembrance of it, the people I am with at the moment and how I felt at that moment. Me and my friends got motivated by what @renacris said to us so we attended the orientation of Miss @jeannmazing.

Honestly, it's been months since I joined the orientation, but the thought of writing again makes me feel tired and unmotivated. My boyfriend and my friends always tell me to start writing again, they always remind me every day, give me strength, and courage, and motivate me that I can write again confidently and I just need to go with the flow to everything. Miss @jeannmazing taught us what Hive is all about. Thanks to Miss @jeannmazing, I learned that Hive is where you can blog about your travels, whereabouts in life, hobbies or interests, share your thoughts, experiences in life, and more. It's nice to see and hear that whenever I travel, I can share it with other people freely and without judgment.
