An adventure begun through the skies
A first-time experience, there's a shine in my eyes
With eager excitement that I cannot hide
My heart beats fast, and my eyes open wide.
Just by the thought of riding a plane for the first time, it already excites me. This feeling pondered and became immense when I got the chance to fulfill it. What made it more remarkable was that I rode a plane not just simply because I wanted t just experience it but because I participated in a nationwide event held in Cebu City together with my fellow schoolmates and JPIANs. Hence, I am grateful to our university and all of the sponsors because, finally, I have checked another thing on my bucket list.
As I took my seat, fastened the belt tight,
Mixed emotions arose, like wings ready for flight.
The engines rumble, and I felt really nervous,
As we reach the cruising altitude, I'm no longer anxious.
As soon as I stepped foot at the entrance of the airport, it thrilled me. When we passed through the boarding procedures and finally went inside the plane, the inner child within me was very happy because it has been my dream ever since I was still a child. It felt as if I had won the lottery because, finally, I fulfilled it.
***Everything seemed to shrink on the ground
Houses, buildings, and trees look like mere dots on a map
While up there, there's a symphony, a unique sound
My spirit awakens while a perspective is unwrapped.***
When the plane took off, I felt nervous and a little bit uneasy. Well, of course, it is my first time. But it didn't last long since I felt relaxed when we were at cruising altitude, where I enjoyed looking at the scenery and all the things on the ground. They look like tiny dots. The lights from the building make it look aesthetic. If only my phone's camera was of really excellent quality, I would have taken some more. Anyway, I am more than content with what I have taken because the picture of such an experience was embedded deep within my mind, and I always smile whenever I remember it.
Time dances differently; while we're up above the sky
The moment is so overwhelming as we soar so high
However, delight and wonder fill the depths of my sigh
As I embrace the charm that unfolds, oh, so nigh.
It feels true that time really flies so fast when you enjoy the moment. While we were up above the sky, I felt mixed emotions. I was really amazed and delighted. If only it's only possible to grab some clouds and put them inside a jar, I would have done that. But since I cannot do it literally due to safety measures, one more reason is that we took off at 5 A.M, and the sky was still dark at that time.
As the plane land, back to solid ground
I feel a mix of emotions swirling around
The plane landed on the runway with a gentle grace
Relief flows through me; oh, what a comforting embrace.
The flight only lasts for an hour. We arrived at our destination at 6, so the surroundings were a bit clearer. I felt turbulence, but it was a little bit because the plane almost landed perfectly. What a sigh of relief when we finally stepped on the ground. The ambiance was incredible, and it felt hopeful.
We went there for a reason, and the experiences after it are to be told some other time. But anyway, the ride was indeed remarkable. I look forward to experiencing it again with my family so they will have a feeling of what it feels like to be riding in a plane.

Omg, I'm wondering what I would feel if ever I also experience this. I never ride the plane yet but I also want to try it. Sana di ako mahilo while its taking off if ever lang, haha.
I'll be glad to know about your experience once you ride a plane in the future, Ate Ruffa. Akala ko din noong una mahihilo ako, but bearable naman, tsaka isang oras lang noon 'yung byahe haha.
Excites din ako dati during my first flight at ako lang mag isa nun 🤣.. From Cebu to Tacloban. Glad the Cebu airport wasn't that complicated... But during my first flight from HK to Ph, muntik pa ako maiwan ng plane..i was the very last passenger na hinintay..kakahiya ma page dahil paalis na yung plane at wala pa ako 🤣🤣...
Baka 'di ko na tatanggalin yung mask ko hanggang pagbaba ng eroplano kung sa'kin po nangyari yan haha pero, it's noce to know your experience ate. :)

I imagine this will be what my official plane ride looks like. I’ve been in a plane before: a few weeks ago at a local tourist site. The plane didn’t fly though. It couldn’t. The planes at the site were all old out-of-commissioned planes. I’m happy you got to cross this off your bucket list, and I hope I get to cross it off mine some day. The photos are amazing. I like that one you designed into your cover.

During my first plane ride, nawala excitement ko nung late na ako hinatid ng taxi eh hahaha. Almost half an hour ata ako nagdadasal nun for a safe flight. Then, I the sunrise at the distance, that eases my nervousness. Dun na lang ako nakatingin hanggang sa naglanding. 😄
It's a good thing that it went safe. Maybe, on your next plane ride, you'll feel relaxed. I had that fear also, but God is good naman.
