Hey, Hivers! Its @makiyumee here again and I am back with a new blog! Today, let’s dive into another food blog and it will be about my experience eating for the first time at Kuya Doi’s restaurant. Let’s go!
That one afternoon, my friends and I decided that we wanted to try a new restaurant rather than eating at our lunch spot at the restaurant where we usually eat our lunch. All of us were all in the mood to try something new and different especially those foods that had some spice in them. As someone who is not into spicy food, I also wanted to try eating but only those that have a little bit of spice. As we chatted while walking out of our campus, we tried to think and pick of a place to eat. There were a few ideas inside our minds but we could not agree on which one that quick. There were a lot of factors to consider. Everyone had a preference of their own so as we continued to walk, we also resumed brainstorming for places with good food.
Then, one of my friends told us about this new restaurant located right across from our school. It was just only a few walks away. He said that the foods on their menu were tasty and best of all was that it was also cheap and affordable for students like us. This got all of us interested since we all wanted to enjoy some good food without spending a lot of money. We were all excited and we also quickly decided to go there together.
When we arrived at the restaurant, I saw their sign and their place was called Kuya Doi's which was a very unique name for me. We all chose a vacant table that could accommodate all of us and then looked at their menu after that. We checked their foods sold and we all found lots of tasty options. They had snacks like Takoyaki and French Fries, drinks like coffee and milk tea, and even food combo.
The smell inside the restaurant made all of us hungry so we quickly chose the dishes that we caught our attention, wrote it down on the paper and also chose the drinks that we like. We were all so excited to try it. As we waited, we continued to observe their menu but it wasn't long when our orders arrived. I ordered one serve of chicken pastil and I was greeted by its pleasant smell and warmth after the waiter served it on our table.
Later, I found myself humming in happiness because of their chicken pastil which was incredibly tasty. It was only just for 45 pesos but the portion was enough to satisfy my hunger since I went to school with an empty stomach. The rice was hot and fresh from the rice cooker, I could still see the steam coming out and there were also lots of flavorful chicken shreds. Each bit of the dish was so enjoyable, making my meal even better.
I chose to combine the rice and the chicken shreds along with its sauce instead of eating them separately. This turned out to be a smart decision for me because the flavors of the chicken shreds and its sauce mixed nicely along with the hot rice. It made every single bite tastier. I made my lunch even better by adding a bottle of cold Coke. The refreshing drink matched with the warm meal just right. Each sip was cool and satisfying, which made the whole experience more fun. Of course, I did not forget to drink water after. It was a fantastic meal and I knew I would want to do it again with my friends soon because it was all worth it.

Wahh, it's been a long time since I last had chicken pastil. Reading this made me remember it. And it's not even the one that we can buy in a food shop coz it is a chicken pastil in a bottle. Kakamiss. Anyways the vibe in there is really good ha. Tipong di ka maalangan pumasok, very welcoming ba.
