I found the Pigar Pigar Recipe I have been Looking for at Hive!

I blame my husband for my body. he is so good at cooking that I have already gained a lot of weight since we got married. I was 65 kgs. back then but now, Im 82 kgs.!

There may be dishes he doesn't know how to cook and asks me to do it. I always search for the best recipe for my husband's requests. And on May 31, 2024...we went to Pugo Market to buy ingredients for Pigar Pigar...but it was until April 3 that I decided to cook it for him.

Why Pigar-Pigar?

So this is an overly written background. Have patience with me please.

He used to study Criminology in Dagupan and there, he got to taste the Dagupan Pigar- Pigar. It became one of his favorites. He just can't copy the recipe.

Fast forward to 2020- Before the pandemic, I opened up a store where I sell school supplies, hair ties and etc. which can be cheaply bought in Dagupan City. We sometimes use his motorcycle to go there and almost all of our travel there, we eat Pigar-Pigar for Lunch.

And so, fast forward again now, we cannot go there since we don't have any more time. I have tried and tried cooking the Pigar Pigar but it was very different from what we used to eat. Until........I joined hive..and I bumped into @eljk17 's recipe. And there I found out that I need more oil! Gosh. It was the oil all along. the beef must be drowned by oil!

So I cooked the Pigar following @eljik17 's recipe and thankfully, it was the closest recipe from that of Dagupan.

So Thank you so much for this 😊. My husband including my kids love it so much.

I cooked this at home. I used a little cabbage since it's what's available.

Another day for Pigar-Pigar

On April 4, my teachers wanted to eat beef for lunch. Because I was the one cooking, I suggested to cook Pigar-pigar again. (Hahaha!) and I told her the things I would be needing. As I arrived, it was already prepared and so, I told the others I'm going to cook Pigar-pigar. They were expecting Agar-Agar! hahaha. We laughed so hard when they told me that what they were expecting was dessert! 🤣. They were disappointed at first but after tasting the Pigar-pigar, I redeemed myself since they said it was delicious. ☺️
