This Christmas season, people eagerly anticipate receiving gifts from family, friends, relatives, or loved ones. It's a joyous time marked by the spirit of generosity, where people share their blessings with others. We, teachers too, eagerly anticipate receiving recognition and gifts for our dedication and effort throughout the year.
Juan Pamplona National High School teachers joined "The Tabuelan District Christmas Party" which was celebrated in Tabunok, Tabuelan, Cebu in Mayor Raul Gerona's Resort. This event stands as an extraordinary occasion, marking the culmination of the year with a blend of celebration, recognition, and heartfelt camaraderie. This annual event, held in the spirit of unity and joy, celebrates different elements that make it a truly memorable experience for everyone.
The said resort seems to be a coastal area, where the combination of abundant coconut trees and strong winds from the nearby ocean creates an environment for relaxation.
The event started with a mass at 7:00 in the morning, setting a solemn tone for the gathering, likely emphasizing the significance of the occasion.
Program Proper
I. Tribute of Excellence Awarding
One highlight of the Tabuelan District Gathering is the "Tribute of Excellence Awarding." This segment is dedicated to acknowledging the outstanding contributions and achievements of individuals who have demonstrated exemplary dedication in their respective fields. Through the presentation of awards, the district not only honors excellence but also inspires others to strive for greatness. This gesture shows a culture of recognition and appreciation, reinforcing the values of hard work and commitment of the teachers.
One of our school's recognition and pride is being the overall 1st placer in the District Sports and Cultural Meet 2023.
II. HONORING OF RETIREES
Another significant aspect of the gathering is the "Honoring of Retirees." This segment pays tribute to individuals who have dedicated a substantial part of their lives to the service of education and the community. In our school, we had one co-teacher ( the photo shown above) who retired early this year. She spent thirty five years in her life as a public school teacher. It was truly amazing for having that long years in serving the people.
By recognizing and celebrating the retirees, this not only expresses gratitude for their tireless efforts but also establishes a tradition of acknowledging the invaluable contributions of its educators. This heartfelt farewell becomes a significant moment as the district honors the people who serve the community with over twenty years in shaping and educating young minds.
As we go on with the program, we have a very admirable and exceptional guest who shared his valuable time with us - to celebrate with us in this very important gathering. He is the School's Division Superintendent of Cebu Province. His presence added a touch of prestige to the event, making us truly grateful and fortunate. It was such an honor to see and meet him personally. He shared a very long and inspirational message which elevated the event, leaving a great impact on the teachers.
III. TEACHERS CHRISTMAS PARTY
The last part was the "Teachers Christmas Party" which added an extra layer of joy to the event. It is a well-deserved moment for educators to unwind and connect with one another. What made it truly wonderful is the raffle draw, featuring simple prizes that generate joy and fun among teachers. The act of calling out names and distributing prizes not only added an element of excitement but also created a shared experience that brought smiles and laughter. Luckily, our names were called and here's our prize. As you can see, these are very simple yet it made our heart delighted with joy.
Another shared moment was the presentation of teachers from different schools that creates an opportunity for them to showcase their talents. Indeed, teachers are flexible and talented.
I'd love to show you our adorable mugs featuring our faces – a thoughtful gift from the Mayor himself. He told us to have our Cebu City tour next year, if God permits. With this, we're very excited and eagerly anticipating this wonderful experience.
With so much fun and enjoyment, as shown in our faces, this special gathering becomes a testament to the district's unwavering dedication to its educators, retirees, and the pursuit of excellence in education.
