Hello, Hivers. This is J. Right now, I will share with you the things I have been through since I got my degree. Remember the time when I graduated college? Graduated with the pride of crimson and gold.

I was so happy and excited for the upcoming days. Life is tough; life is great; it's up to you how you will live with it. Aside from the facts, I feel so happy that I have finished school for 18 years. The pressure is really pressing on me.
My friends flew to the city right away to find a job. It wasn't as easy to find, but I'm glad that they found one afterward. I feel pressured and proud of them because I did read some of their complaints about how tired it is. I didn't really understand it when I was still in our home reading some of their perspectives because I was not in their shoes, but the moment I tried to be in it, that was the moment that I wanted to shed tears, as I understood how frustrating it is. To go back, the next week I decided to try my luck and apply for a job in the city.

I flew to the city at dawn, feeling cold and sleepy. At that moment, I was excited to go to the city once again, and I am very eager to find a job and, at the same time, go to some of the the places that city can offer.

We arrived at 9:00 in the morning, my first task to do, so it applies to any type of BPO industry. Quite far from what I have studied for 4 years. The reason why I'm eager to find a job in the BPO industry is that the company offers a good amount of compensation and a good package of benefits.

My first place to go is Montage. I'm amazed at how the building looks. It likes cubes. As I proceed with the interview, I was quite intimidated, and she focused mostly on my degree. I was nervous, and I failed.

I jumped into another BPO industry, but since I don't have any type of work experience yet, my on-the-job training and assessment are very complicated. I haven't had my lunch, and it's already 3:46 PM. I feel so hungry, but I guess I already know the results of my assessment and have decided to go out. Buy food in the 7-11 store. It was a hassle because the city was in a bad state at the time; it's raining. I did wear heels the reason why my feet hurt, and we just walk from Montage to Flyover, where we can take a ride to Mabolo.

The next day, I decided to try my luck at IT Park, the place where most of the famous BPO companies reside.
I got there at 9:30 AM, and there are tons of applicants in there. In every place I have applied, I always create connections with the applicants, which is amazing and sad because the ties we create are just temporary. The guard amazes me because he speaks English fluently, and he's the one who will assist us first with the form to be filled out and who the referral is, but I got there without any referrals. Well, I passed the final interview in that BPO industry, but the assessment is that I don't think so. The interview was the first thing to do before proceeding to the assessment room when I did the assignment. I cannot do the math. Afterwards, they said that they would call us tomorrow, but I didn't really have high hopes for that, and I was kind of curious because my neighbors also apply to that company, and we happen to bump into each other during the application.

My feet hurt. I'm glad that Steve brought slippers from me when I said that I'm exhausted, and my feet hurt strolling all over again. The last, and maybe the final, BPO I applied for is Qualfon. The process is fine compared to the Conxentrix, which is a hassle, and the flow is like a turtle race. Qualfon is very accommodating. List the personal information and take the personality assessment, for which I got a 74 over 100 and a passing score of 60. Well, upon answering, you have to take the positive side as always, and you think that's better even if that's not really you. Input all your information into the system and proceed to the first interview, which I passed. Wait for about a minute to be called for the second interview, and if you proceed in that state, you will have your free lunch. It's all five of us to continue to the meeting room. I was very nervous, given that the BPO company is a very cold place. We have asked questions, and I failed out of pronunciation. I was given training about it, but I didn't accept it because I had decided to come home to the province.

Going to the city makes me realized that I still need a lot of adjustment. I did go home, not because I gave up finding a job. I decided to take the online application at the moment and process some of the valid identification cards and documents first.
And I will continue to improve the things that I have lacked. The things I did in the city were not just about finding a job; I also enjoyed my stay there as we explored some of the accessible spots. Know that life is not a race, and we have our own timeline. And just keep trying and waiting patiently, as you will land your dream job in the future, but if you have a job right, learn to love it because pride won't buy us a bread and cater our needs. That would be all for my first ever job hunting experience thank you for being with J.
Adios, Hivers
Best of luck, and I hope you enjoyed the experience despite the hardships!
I was at IT Park 2 months ago and landed a position that was hard to pass up. The compensation was good, benefits were awesome, but I got cold feet three days before the contract signing and backed out after working with them for 2 weeks. I guess I wasn't cut out for the 9-5 life, unless the 9 refers to the number of hours I spend debating whether to stay or leave. 🤣
My story is a bit different since I've been working from home for 14 years already. I was lured by the shiny benefits without stopping to ask myself if I was ready to give up working in pajamas. Turns out, corporate life and I are like oil and water... I'm too stubborn to conform and tiptoe around policies I find unnecessary. Imagine a cat being forced to wear a leash— di ko bagay
That being said, your experience reminds me of my early days.
I started in BPO years ago with @itravelrox as a market researcher. That's what built my communication skills. I was 16, and I got in with 35 others out of 300+ at the job fair. I didn't eat lunch for fear my name might be called and I'd miss it. Gi pasmo ko pag uli lol, wa gani jud ko nangihi
It was an entire day of struggle, but it was life-defining. I am hoping that yours will be too! Make it harder, Lord, kay the harder it is the stronger you'll be. And the stronger you are, the easier things will be in the long term.
I hope you'll find your calling, and once you do, pls don't forget the joy of Hiving. Tell us more about your day-to-day. Best wishes!

Look for a 'role' that you think fits and interests you. For example, data analyst, marketing, sales, etc. Good luck and have fun while you're at it!
I'm figuring things out. Thank you so much for the tips. I appreciate it.
That was a nice try. Don't worry, there's always a next time. It's good that you didn't push yourself through things that are not yet for you. Happy Hunting 😊
Staying positive in verge of pressure and frustration haha thank you so much!
I've been to Qualfon before. I liked it there, but I returned to teaching which is my passion.
Qualfon has an amazing management. A friendly environment and they always give chance to everyone.
It's inspiring to see you navigating through the challenges of job hunting in the city. Keep pushing forward, and remember, your efforts will pay off eventually. Rooting for you!
Hello, thank you so much for the inspiring words. I appreciate it truly ❤️
Heya! Been in the industry for 11 years and counting.
What I can say is to keep on applying and the right company will hire you for sure. Take every opportunity to apply and gain knowledge with their process. Those pointers will lead you to your company.
Out of the three I'd been with TP thus I had this username and I can say that their management is okay ( here in Manila).
Even if you do not have any experience as long as they saw something in you that will fit in to the category that they are looking for they will hire you for sure.
Once you are inside be a sponge to learn and be confident with yourself if you stutter it is okay everyone experience that. Practice and practice for sure you will get there.
Adulting really is hard. Knock us harder even sometimes. Thanks for taking us with you on your BPO job hunting never experience it though I had on mind to. Just never had the guts. Everything is in process and different from everyone. God bless.
We have similar problems in this part of the globe too. While in many countries it's enough to get a degree and then have a job in that field, over here it's always asked for experience, which you can not gain while studying. This sucks!
