Hey there my fellow Hivers!
It's Mooon again, and I'm here to share another blog with you guys.
This is the recent activity that I've attended. Maskipaps: The Crossover. UP Diliman's Biggest Year-Ender Music Festival: A night full of rave, music, and fireworks.
My friend, a former UP student, told me about this event. Unfortunately, she was not able to attend that night, so I went there by myself. I purchased the ticket online and received it via email. The event was held at UP Diliman Campus, Sunken Garden.
Upon reaching the place, the marshalls guide us to the entrance and ensure everyone's safety.
There's a designated lane for online tickets, I presented the proof of payment and then they gave me a wrist tag.
As the gates opened, attendees poured in, greeted by an array of sights and sounds that showcased the essence of Maskipaps: Crossover. Colorful art installations adorned the entrance, each piece telling a story of its own and reflecting the cultural inspirations behind the concert. Food stalls lined the path, offering flavors from around the world—tacos, shawarma, burgers, street foods, coffee, drinks, and traditional pastries—inviting concert-goers to indulge in a culinary journey before the musical festivities began.
I was mesmerized by the lineup of artists. Headlining the event were well-known favorites interlaced with emerging talents, bridging gaps between generations and genres. The stage erupted with a fusion of sounds as the first artist took to the mic, seamlessly transitioning from pop anthems to soulful ballads that had the crowd singing along. As the night unfolded, hip-hop artists brought their energy, followed by indie rock bands that engaged the audience with catchy hooks and thought-provoking lyrics. Although I'm not familiar with other artists their talent is truly astonishing.
This band "The Ridleys" is noticeable because of their style. This is the first time I've seen and heard of them their songs got my attention especially the song titled "Aphrodite" You better check this band you gonna love them for sure.
One of the biggest artists from the lineup is Demi. She's a cutie morena singer and one of her top songs is the "Pakundangan" featuring Hev Abi. However, Hev was not able to perform that night.
Robledo Timido was also present that night and performed his trending song "Gusto ko Akin ka lang" This song is catchy and I admit this song is on my playlist. The flow and lyrics are awesome.
The crowd goes wild when Gloc-9 appears. I'm a big fan, and he's one of the reasons why I bought a ticket. He didn't disappoint me because of his Insane performance. He performed his classic songs: Hoy, Sirena, Upuan, and Simpleng tao, and he asked us to open our flashlights and join him in singing the "Kaleidoscope word."
And here's Flow G., one of the popular artists in the lineup. I can say that he's a monster when it comes to rap. His live performance is on a different level. It was a wild performance.
After an hour of standing and enjoying the music, I sat and rested for a bit my energy level was reducing and I needed to recharge for the next artists.
I bought myself one bottle of San Miguel beer and when the host called the PNE "Parokya ni Edgar" the crowd went insane and I am one of them lol. Finally, I'm about to witness the PNE's live performance.
They performed their classic songs; Inuman Na, Halaga, Buloy, Your Song, and Bagsakan this band never gets old.
The magic of Maskipaps: Crossover truly came to life during the collaborative performances. One standout moment was when a renowned pop star joined forces with an up-and-coming rapper, captivating the audience with a surprise mashup that combined their two distinct styles. The synergy was palpable, and the crowd erupted in cheers as they witnessed the artists stepping out of their comfort zones to create something extraordinary together.
Maskipaps: Crossover 2024 was a community, cultural, and musical tapestry that went beyond a simple event. Everybody departed with a tale to share, a new favorite song, or a memory, and maybe a creative spark that had been kindled within them.
This occasion effectively encapsulated the spirit of music, which is a celebration of life, love, and the lovely bonds that unite us as a worldwide society.
It was an inedible experience and for sure I will participate next year and look forward to another monstrous lineup.
That's all for me. Thank you folks for dropping by.
See you on my next one 😉
Mooon out 🤙
Thank you for sharing your experience and glad you enjoyed the event. Makes me regret not attending!
This looks so fun, and even alone talagang pumunta ka and you enjoy it. Ang mahal ng ticket pero yong mga artist magagaling naman talaga ano, sulit na sulit. 👏👏
