Teachers are the true architects of our society. They shape the young minds and nurture future leaders. Their influence doesn't just stay in the four corners of the classroom, but they create the world to be a better place to live. They are untold heroes, and that's why their existence must be appreciated. A simple celebration of honoring the sacrifices of our dear teachers will be one of the ways of showing appreciation for their true service. Please be with me as we delve into how we celebrate Teacher's Day in our school.
Starting in the last week of September, up to the first week of October, the world celebrated World Teachers Day. But here in the Philippines, Teachers Day will be celebrated every 5th of October. As a response to this worldwide event, our school conducted a program hosted by our Supreme Student Government.
A week of Celebration
I call this a week of celebration since my students surprised me with their presents and gifts on different days of the week. It touched my heart how they were able to give me presents by saving a part of their allowances.
I never expected that they would give me a surprise that day. I was so touched by their messages and their letters for me as their subject teacher and also their adviser.
I can't deny that I also learned something from my students. From their diverse mind, they can create unique ideas with the help of each other. The way they thanked me for every life lesson I instilled in them and showed me how they learned from it. I am so happy with how I see them having an improvement and developing a sense of responsibility.
Every section where I have a subject handled surprised me. This week is my most unforgettable moment of being here in this profession. This is not just a profession, but also a passion.
The Cake of Joy
Oh, by the way, the most common present that my students give me is a cake. I once asked them, how could they afford to buy, and they replied that they contributed a penny from their allowance. I am touched by their efforts and indeed thankful and happy as if tears of happiness went down, especially as they delivered their words of appreciation. As if all my stress and tiredness have gone.
A Game of Unity
On the 5th of October afternoon, All the teachers and staff of our School conducted a short program hosted by the SSG. We have so much fun, forgetting the stress and worries.
We are divided into groups according to our grade level advisory, and alas! My group is the champ of all the games. We plan and build strategies to win, and of course, Unity is the first thing to do.
Teachers Day serves as a powerful reminder of the invaluable impact teachers have in shaping generations to come. In this celebration, the teacher's unwavering dedication is recognized and their efforts in molding the future generations are cherished and valued.
