Hello! I haven't written a blog entry in a while, and to be completely honest, I kind of missed it. After a long, exhausting, but productive day, here I am again, writing my blog.. and this was felt like a fresh start. I missed you all! ๐
So, while I'm away, one of the events in which I took part was the "Takbo Para sa Kalikasan: Air Run 2023", and I just wanted to share with you all how it went. After having every intention to attend in the past events, I am now taking part in this type of fun run for the first time.
I recently know about this event this year by email from the office, and the raffle ticket giveaway caught my eye. As soon as I finished reading the email, I signed up to finally attend this year event. I believe they notified the winners after a week, and I was very lucky to win the raffle!!

I won the Takbo Para Sa Kalikasan Air Run race kits, which icludes the event ticket, the Singlet, Finisher Shirt, and a Finisher Medal. So were advised to claim our Race kits at the VIP Booth on the venue at least 1 hour before the designated gun start of our chosen category. By the way, as a beginner I chose the 5km run only.
The day of the event came, and I believe that we arrived at the venue around 4:30. The gun start was at 5 am and ended at 7 am, giving us two full hours to run around the CCP Complex.

The event began with a quick briefing and a zumba dancing as warm-up for the runners. It was a lot of fun! The crowd was quite energized as they danced to zumba.
So, exactly 5am the gun started and that's the sign that the 5km runners will start to commence. As a weakling beginner, the first 5 minutes of full running was so so hard, I got easily tired up and want to just walk until the end. But the warmth, fresh air, and joy it offers are also felt along with the exhaustion that penetrates my entire body. This is a kind of accomplishment to me as someone who didn't participate in many events but now feels the want to go.

Many people signed up, including pros (who are aiming for the PR) and groups of friends who just want to have fun. Even though they are worn out and experiencing leg pain, I can tell from the expressions on their faces that they enjoy being able to run and giving it their all, for their physical health while also helping the environemnt.
That day, I came to understand that the 5 KM is no joke. I mistakenly believed that it would be a simple and quick run, but it wasn't. LOL! By the time we got to the halfway point, which was after an hour, I could really feel my body beginning to sweat heavily. I'm about to give up, but I learned how to take breaks while walking, and that is what kept me going for another 1 hour of running.

And I finally did it, I reached the finish line.. alive. ๐ And here's my finisher medal ๐ญ
At this point, I just wanna have a very very cold shower and a rest.

It was indeed a very good experience! ๐
If you'll ask me if I'll try this again next time? Yes definitely, but stronger than the 90s trend LOL.

Oh I missed doing this kind of fun run but with a cause. Joining this is kinda fulfilling too no. I rarely join on this kind of event din coz it's tiring. Mahina ako sa takbuhan aguy haha.
Hahahaha, grabe nga 5 mins pa lang pagod na ko pero worth it naman.
Hahaha parang ako, and yeah as long as you feel worth it then fine na fine yarn uwu
Congratulations! Fun Runs are really exciting! I love joining fun runs as well. I have just joined a fun run for a cause today here in our small town. I also wish to join fun runs where one can get a finisher's medal. Maybe someday. Anyway, thanks for sharing your experience. ๐
Yes! Having a finisher medal feels like I finished the run first. You can join next time! โบ๏ธ
