Today I was thrilled to finally be joining this vibrant community. At 22 years young, I'm navigating the exciting, sometimes chaotic, world of a college student, a barangay tanod (peacekeeper), and a son deeply grateful for his incredible mother. I hail from the beautiful city of Naga, Cebu, Philippines, and I'm currently in my third year at Cebu Technological University - Naga Extension Campus, pursuing a Bachelor of Industrial Education. My goal? To graduate, make my family proud, and give back to the woman who has sacrificed everything for me.
Meet my Twin sister Christine
My story is a little… unique. Born on December 23rd, I arrived in this world alongside my twin sister, Christine. Our parents, inspired by the Christmas season, named us after figures close to their hearts.

However, our early childhood took an unexpected turn. Due to a common Filipino superstition, we were separated for several years. Apparently, folk wisdom dictates that twins must be separated if one of them is frequently ill, as I was as a child.

The belief was that this separation would prevent further sickness or even death. So, while Christine stayed at home, I went to live with my Uncle Mente.Although we lived apart, we still saw each other regularly, and eventually, around the age of five, we were reunited under one roof.

Adding another layer of "twin-like" complexity to my life, my twin sister has a son named Caleb, born on December 20th, and my brother has a daughter, Kia, born on December 22nd. Since they share the same birth month, many people mistakenly believe they are twins! Family history includes this small yet interesting distinction which we view as endearing.
Attending college presents its own challenges to students who start college without any family background of higher education. My sister already has a family with his kid and my brother also has his own family while our youngest sibling is in sixth grade now. My aim is to stop the pattern by earning my degree which will benefit my entire family particularly my mother. The chance to study as a complete scholarship recipient at CTU-Naga Extension Campus represents a great fortune that I appreciate deeply.
My earned salary has become essential to my family's financial stability since it helps my mother with her expenses.
The woman I call mother is undoubtedly a superhero. As a lady guard she dedicates long hours of duty for our family's well-being because she supports us completely. She took several financial sacrifices by obtaining loans to give me everything necessary for my academic goals. I am inspired to achieve my goals because of my mother's ongoing commitment toward her goals. The ultimate goal I have set for myself is to create a financially comfortable retirement lifestyle for my mother so she can live her later years in peace without financial stress.

The activities outside my studies and working life are what help me stay connected to reality. I have played volleyball continuously since the beginning of elementary school. As a member of SK Cup I participated in the tournament organized by Sangguniang kabataan Federation at our city. There I grouped with my fellow youth from the barangay alongside members from other local communities.
I participated in the Ctu-Naga volleyball team to compete at CTU meet during the event in Carmen Cebu.
I started playing ping pong not too long ago and that led to a gold medal success in our campus intramural games. Mobile Legends alongside other popular games holds a place of preference in my friend circle for recreational games. Playing games represents an excellent form of relaxation that enables you to bond with your loved ones.
why Hive?
Well, I've always loved taking pictures and sharing my experiences. Through Hive I will make my writing vision a reality while pursuing many additional opportunities. I am excited to explore this writing world while learning from others to develop my writing abilities.
A big part of my inspiration comes from @helianthus-chloe.She's shared her own journey on Hive, explaining how it has helped her improve her vocabulary and writing skills.I thought,"Why not give it a try?" I'm hoping that Hive will help me hone my writing abilities and expand my vocabulary as well.
The journey to Hive would have been impossible without the help and teaching from @intoy.bugoy. He led a virtual orientation that opened my eyes to the incredible potential of this community. His passion and expertise truly serves as an inspiring example. Through his guidance he has taught me the essential aspects and created an open environment which drives me to be a significant part of the Hive community. I truly appreciate his guidance because I happily look forward to absorbing knowledge from both him and everyone in the Hive community. While I won't pledge things I may not achieve I will dedicate myself to working diligently to develop my writing skills on Hive. I look forward to building connections with Hive users and showcasing my content while adding value to this exceptional platform.
