I am not blessed with monetary wealth, but having a precious daughter is more than blessed with this earthly thing. As a working mother, my life is busier. Side-to-side to-do lists happen every day and the different paperwork bombarded will sometimes be given precedence than to give quality time with my child.
And to make up for the valuable time I haven't spent with her, I asked her once what she likes me to do with her during the weekends. She answered, "I will not be asking anything from you on my birthday, I just want to accompany you on your weekend wanderings. This will make me happy."
...and in this blog, I wanna share the bonds that we have: The mother and daughter as wanderers that have a great impact on her well-being and make her happy.
The Benefits of our Expedition on Top
Together we were able to conquer the exhausting walk toward the summit of Mt. Campitlok. I always make sure that she will not get dehydrated. The moment we stopped, I let her sip a little amount of water. She was able to surpass the arduous path by pushing herself to continue and be persistent in her goal which is to reach the top. In such a way, she learned to value the importance of persistence.
Immersing ourselves in the wonders of nature by reaching the peak of Mt. Campitlok in Northern Cebu is one of the greatest bonds between mother and daughter. The tranquility of being on top offered her a great privilege that brought a great impact on her life. She was able to eyewitness how wonderful the world is through gazing at the overlooking view of nature. With this, I was able to teach my child how to relish nature's goodness.
Another mountaineering that strengthened our bond even more. The climb at Mt. Liog-liog tested her endurance as a beginner. The amazing view of nature spellbound her and was asking for more climbs. She, therefore has a self-realization that reconnecting with nature is a great act that had given her more fun and so enjoyable. She loves to travel and be with nature as this will give her contentment.
The Mighty Rocks
The striking uniqueness of these rocks adds vibrancy and she was truly overwhelmed. For the first time, she had seen the biggest and the smallest one. Regardless of the sizes, the colors, and the textures, all have different functions that play vital roles for in our ecosystem. The strong association of these rocks led her to value others' worth.
The dramatic splendid view of this crater-look-like landscape is truly magical. My child was totally astonished at how nature perfectly did this. The genuine breathtaking view of nature is so impressive, and the cool breeze of the air is soothing and relaxing. It helped revitalize our draining energy.
The Coastal Trips
The hanging bridge attached to the two mountains has an irresistible charm that allures us. The stunning background view of nature is ideal and perfect to unwind. The charm of this place had given my child total refreshment and was able to embrace its purity. She was having fun showing me her talent for having a flexible body as this place is uninterrupted.
I spotted her gazing at the calm sea enjoying the sea breeze caressing her skin. I was not interrupting her while she was contemplating. With this, she was able to rejuvenate her well-being and got a positive outlook on life.
The simple celebration
The simple want becomes a great need. While she was still young, I was able to let her feel the benefits of reconnecting with nature. It is already a need as this will make a great difference to her. It will give a great impact on her life that will lead to a healthy mind, body, and soul.
On her 9th birthday, she only asked for a blueberry cheesecake. This made her happy and contented. The contentment that she had learned from our different adventures was substantial as she was able to value the importance of contentment and satisfaction. She loves adventures and nothing can stop her from being a wanderer.
This blog shows that the most valuable thing that we can give to our children is time. And the best gift from above is having a loving child/children.
