Filipinos anywhere in the corner of the globe are known for some of these traits valued; hospitable, closeness of family ties, and religion which plays a vital role in our lives. We are also unique when it comes to celebrations like; fiesta, Christmas Parties, New Year’s Eve, and birthday celebrations. We enjoy and love different celebrations together with our loved ones.
Hello! Dear Hivers! It was a great day for us since we were invited to go to Paypay, Daanbatayan, Cebu to celebrate one special day- the birthday celebration of our cousin and my sister-in-law. This was celebrated on one of the fascinating beaches that gave satisfaction and pleasure. Since we are well-known to be extravagant in celebrating a birthday, I’m going to show you all where and how it was spent.
But wait, be captivated by the spellbinding beauty of nature before reaching the place.
A short description of Cebu’s North
Northern Cebu is famous for its white beaches which attract tourists' attention and Paypay is one of them.It is one of the barangays in Daanbantayn, Cebu. It is where we will be celebrating the said birthday. In heading there, the natural green sceneries of nature will for sure enthrall the travelers and will automatically chase tiredness away.
Since we are residing in Caduawan, Toboggan, and Cebu, going there is a piece of cake. It took us 45 minutes to 1 hour to be there riding a private vehicle. If people opt to ride public vehicles, it will take 1 hour and 45 minutes depending on the bus driver’s speed driving.
On our drive, these are the municipalities that we passed through, Bogo- San Remegio – Medellin – and our destination (Paypay) Daanbantayan.
The Site
Now, I’m gonna indulge you in a private property beach here in Paypay where we celebrated the well-prepared celebration. The birthday! The place was perfect for bonding and relaxing. It is very clean, has well-maintained green surroundings and there is tranquility all around.
De-stressing moment
We arrived at the venue very late in the afternoon safe and sound. 'though we came late still, we were able to watch the sunset. The wonderful view of the sunset was jaw-dropping. It was a great feeling watching as it sets.
At night, my cousins drank liquor as it brought joy to them once they are together. The night was so cold, it was raining but it doesn't stop us to have fun during the nighttime.
To be stress-free from work we grabbed the opportunity to sleep for free at the beach resort for one night. Beach at night was a peculiar experience. The sounds of the sea waves were relaxing to hear, the beach sand is beneficial to one’s health, and moongazing at the beach was pretty cool as it helped relieve my anxieties.

Beach is one of the perfect places where we can spend quality bonding with family and friends. Whether it is day or night. If you want to escape stress? Be at the beach! In here, there is serenity.
Wow! The morning beauty of the beach chases the wearies away. My mood automatically turned to relaxation and I was refreshed by the green scenery inside the beach, the cold sea breeze, and the blue skies above. I was overwhelmed by the prettiness of the surroundings.
The beach is taken care of. The sand is free from trash, and the sea water is clean.
A barefoot walk on the beach can be beneficial to our health. I was trying it.
The momentous celebration by the sea
Another trait that Filipinos are famed for is being helpful and diligent. We wanted the day to be full of joy and laughter. To attain this happiness, we need to fill our stomachs and be full. Although this was not our celebration we extended our free service for the success of the celebration.
In celebrating special occasions, Filipinos are always on the go. Being hospitable will always reveal as it is one of the famous traits Filipinos are known of. Foods are prepared well to satisfy the guests' taste. We spend time, money, and effort in all preparations for our guests’ contentment.
The famous Lechon is always craved on every occasion was prepared. This is usually present during a birthday celebration.
Cooking the hanging rice locally known as puso was more convenient to prepare. Filipinos used to cook the puso even if it is time-consuming and very difficult to do. This is best for every occasion.
With a sense of belongingness and togetherness, all the prepared foods were served at their best.
Birthday celebration is a thanksgiving for another blissful life. Before the lunch was served, the mass was offered first. Extending all the gratitude for a healthy life, a better job, and of course good health every day.
Close family relatives, neighbors, and friends are invited to attend the mass and join the celebration. This is one of my loved occasions because of the reunion of families.
The mass was done. The lunch was all set. Everyone was picking up all the likes from desserts to the viand. The food was blessed by the priest before eating started.
Of course, the cake made the celebration complete. The singing of happy birthday song was sung after the blessing of the food. After singing, together they uttered their wishes before blowing out the candles. Happy and contented.

All foods were served with love. Everybody was having a sumptuous lunch by the sea.
Regardless of what occasion the Filipinos were celebrating, the true essence of joy is being together with the families. Whether there is an occasion or not, spending enough time with the families really matters.

Lechon is something I want to try! after reading so many posts from the Philippine, there are a lot of similarities with food, language and culture. Like puso, in Bahasa we call it, ketupat and only served during special celebration. I notice there are some cute dogs? do they belong to locals or a stray one?
Absolutely! Lechon in our country is very tasty and it is always present in every occasion. You must try it!
Those cuties are all pets and the pups on the bed are ours. They are my number one companion. Wherever we will go, they will go with us too.
