I am fond of reminding myself of the things I am grateful for every day. Before I kicked in with all the plans I have in 2024, I once looked back in 2023 with a smile on my face, reminiscing the things that I am truly blessed about. So here's one of the many things that made last year a worthwhile one.
One of the things I held as one of the most memorable occasions in my 2023 is my HOUSE BLESSING. Yes, finally! I moved in last April and just last December 27, the house blessing was pushed through.
I had it scheduled earlier and the parish secretary agreed. But a few days later, he came to the house informing the schedule was changed. The priest had just released his schedule of activities and thus, the secretary had to adjust the dates. I had limited time in the preparation, as well as in the invitation. I only had the chance to invite @callmesmile and @jobeliever but Smile had a tight schedule on that day, so she wasn't able to come. It was @jobeliever who was there but I was saddened because when I browsed my photo gallery, we didn't have any photos taken together.
My early visitors of that day were the family of the licensed broker who processed this lot area and my aunties. I let them eat first before the house blessing because they still have errands to attend to and they were just there, making time for me, to show their support. Their presence truly meant a lot.
Before they left, they took photos in my receiving area.
Since they're senior citizens already and my house is situated on top, going up and down seemed a battle for them. But, look at their faces! They were still enjoying their walk.
I ordered few foods from the famous Capitancillo Restaurant and Catering Services and had my cousins prepare the lechon, weighing more than 65 kilos.
I invited some of my neighbors, my colleagues, and my close friends but I didn't have the time to take photos because I was so busy attending to other guests.
The priest arrived past six in the evening. He told me he was a bit late ( more than an hour) because he was stuck in the traffic. I just nodded but at the back of my mind, this is a deduction from your stipend. Hahaha. Well, we always have the heart to understand when it seems impossible to comprehend situations and things. So, it was okay.
We lit the candles, said our prayer, and sang a song as the priest roamed around every corner of the house and drizzled holy water.
After the blessing, the priest and his company enjoyed their dinner. We conversed over things and as the time was ticking, they had to go for another schedule was waiting.
After the house blessing, my nephews and nieces enjoyed our picture-taking. We have photos together from various angles. See how happy these faces were!
The next morning, I was still in awe knowing the house blessing was successful and I was able to pull off all the expenses. Hahahaha.
As always, the view from the house looks lively and lovely. It gives me the feeling of waking up every day, brimming with hope and gratefulness in my heart. With the kind of family and support system that I have, I couldn't ask for more. I am blessed beyond measure.

mountain top view, looks very nice! Do you normally go there by foot, or usually via car as I see road trails going up. Reminds me of my hometown Benguet, although population is booming there and houses are built left and right. I wish to see lush green in the surroundings to be maintained in upcoming years.
