My previous blog was all about the Best Ramen restaurant in Dumaguete but this one now, let's go local.
Jo's Chicken Inato, being popular with its chicken inasal or barbeque, has its roots in Dumaguete City. Around the city, it has several branches already but we chose the original restaurant across Siliman University.
Jo's Chicken which is located in the heart of Dumaguete, is a two-storey restaurant where on the second floor, there is an air-conditioned room for customers who prefer it. The restaurant is known to be one of the famous and oldest local restaurants that best serves its delicious meals such as chicken inasal.
When we entered the restaurant, we already felt its native style with how the restaurant looks like. Its handwashing area is made up of native colorful huge pots or jars. Above them are the chandeliers made from native materials. Customers were occupying the restaurant already so we decided to go upstairs.
Take a look at the stairs. You would know how long the restaurant runs and yet, customers are still into it. When we reached the second floor, there were tables and chairs made up of wood. They all look sturdy and pretty!
They still have these round native chandeliers boxed with bamboo. The bamboos added the aesthetic and native ambiance of the restaurant.
Since the restaurant is best known for its grilled chicken, it wouldn't be complete without these chicken icons on the wall. Moreover, the handwashing area here is made up of bamboo that holds the water hose and faucet and the basin used is a shell.
Before our order was served, it rained heavily outside. By the way, we ordered two pieces of chicken inasal, shrimp, and mango shake. The rain was pouring heavily so I hurriedly took photos of the food.
Now I know why Jo's Chicken Inato has preserved its name, and why its name is still making rounds online or offline. It established its name in 1985 and it is still soaring up until now.
