Last January, I went back here to Cebu to celebrate the Sinulog Festival with my friends and my boyfriend. And for you to know since I’ve been away for a few months because of my busy schedule I will share here my moments in Cebu for the Sinulog Festival 2024 also known as the Pit Senyor here in the Philippines.
Sinulog Festival is a traditional celebration here in Cebu City and it is held every third Sunday of January. It is an honor celebration of Santo Niño the Child Jesus. Every year in January they Celebrate this Festival in Cebu and it is the most well-known Festival here in the Philippines since there are lots of tourists from the country celebrating this occasion. One of the most I love in Sinulog is when they gather with family and friends to have a church visit in St. Niño Basilica, most of the people here are so devoted to St. Niño the Child Jesus.
As I celebrate the Sinulog here in Cebu again, I am with my boyfriend and a couple of friends. We enjoyed the days here in Cebu, last December me and my friend planned to go here since it was their first time also celebrating Sinulog, it’s my second time celebrating this festival since my last blog here last year if you remember my blog story when we first met with my boyfriend and my broken phone. As we promised it together before I will be back in Cebu with him to celebrate our first Sinulog.
Here’s a picture of when we arrived at the port of Cagayan De Oro, our Ship's name was Trans-Asia Shipping Line it is a known shipping line here in Cebu and it’s my first time having a trip night with this ship. I love the ambiance of the ship and it is clean also the crew here was so approachable. These are some of our pictures on the ship and I was so happy that day because these two friends of mine were so excited because it was their first time riding a ship like this. And then after everything in that moment we strolled around the ship and had some nights like parties and food around the ship, also I appreciated all of the crew on this passenger ship because they were very approachable.
We had the best night. We enjoyed the cool breeze that touched our skin and the sound of weaves that made us forget all our problems for just a short time. We talk loudly like we are arguing because we can’t hear each other because of the loud noise of the engine. After a long talk, we decided to take a rest because the ship would be arriving at the destination port early in the morning.
Around 3 in the morning, as we arrived at Cebu port, my boyfriend fetched us at the port and we’re stop by with the famous cafe in here cebu, the Don macchiatos and the flavor that I ordered was a Spanish latte and it taste so good and then after that, we went to his home to have some rest and sleep. In the afternoon as we were done having some rest we strolled around the city to buy some shirts and we strolling in the city and my two friends were so happy because there are finally visiting Cebu to celebrate their first time at the Sinulog Festival.
After we’re having our rest in the house of my boyfriend, in the afternoon we strolled around the city to bought our couple shirt. There are lots of souvenirs in the City.
In the evening, my boyfriend and I visited the Basilica Church and we were so happy because we already had church together as we promised to do our first date church in Sinulog Festival after our church we had some heart-to-heart talks and ate some street food and strolled around the Basilica Church.
As we strolled around the city my boyfriend and I, also ate some street foods in the city and took some moments together in their street.
I was so happy that day because we finally having together out our first date together at Sinulog as we promised and since we planned to have it we have been in a long-distance relationship for almost one year.
In midnight, we planned to have a night out with some of the circle of friends of my boyfriend to have a night party and I enjoyed that day because I finally met some friends of my boyfriend since we always see each other in phone video call only. I was so happy that day because they also treat me as their closest friend. We enjoyed that night in a resto bar in Cebu having night out talks and vibing beautiful night in a bar.
After the party, gerald and I went back to our hotel to have some rest because that day was so tiring and it was day one of the Sinulog Festival so we should have more energy to celebrate and we decided to sleep early that night because tomorrow would be the Sinulog Festival day street party so we should have some more energy to spend the parties everywhere. I will share here everything that happened to me with my friends and boyfriend in the days we spent in Sinulog for so many days we stayed here.
So those days, our first day together were so memorable for me and I enjoyed that day.
