Hello, Hivers!
The “Brigada Eskwela" is a DepEd initiative under the Adopt- a – School Program that calls for the engagement and collaboration of different personnel and stakeholders for school readiness in the opening of classes.
The said activity is a “Schools Maintenance Week", a nationwide-event created at promoting the importance of maintaining and improving our school facilities to build a better and more conducive learning environment for our students.
Bongdo National High School facilitated the Brigada Eskwela 2024 through a short program with the theme “Bayanihan para sa Matatag na Paaralan". Bayanihan, a deeply rooted Filipino tradition symbolizes the spirit of unity and cooperation. It embodies the joint effort of individuals coming together for a shared purpose.
The opening program started at 9:00 in the morning with an opening prayer and then followed by the Philippine National Anthem. Our Brigada Focal Person, Ms. Rochan did the presentation of volunteers and stakeholders. The heartwarming words of welcome was then delivered by the Schools Partnership Focal Person.
The State of the School Address (SOSA) was given by our vigorous and dedicated school head, wherein he reiterated in his speech the importance of unity, collaboration and shared responsibilities among students, parents, teachers, community members and other stakeholders in preparing the school for the opening of the new academic year.
To ease the monotony of the program, our faculty president serenaded the participants with his song "Lagkaw", an old Visayan song which means “a makeshift shelter”. The grown-up participants especially the parents were really entertained by Sir Eric’s song performance.
Meanwhile, the Chairman on the Committee on Education, Hon. Renillo Cases took the podium to inspire everyone to engage and collaborate in making the school a safer place for the learners. He also reminded the participants to work together as one for a better outcome where it is beneficial for the school community and most especially to our learners.
Thereafter, Mr. Apundar presented the workplan, daily tasks to be done by the Brigada Eskwela Committee and grouping of specific jobs to be performed by the volunteers and participants. Afterwhich, the volunteers and participants then headed to their group where they wanted to take part with.

Therefore, the teachers are very much indebted to everyone who volunteered, donated and participated in the maintenance work, clean up, repairs and other tasks that could contribute to improved school’s facilities and surroundings in preparation for the opening of classes.
Indeed, it is true that we can achieve things that we cannot accomplish alone if we come together in community. We find strength not just in our own individual selves but in our collective efforts to uplift and support one another.
The volunteers and community members have made a significant impact on our school for generously extending their time, effort, and resources. The strong sense of community and camaraderie displayed had strengthened the bond and enriched the school’s educational environment.
Let us always keep the spirit of Bayanihan alive!
If there's unity and cooperation the work or task will done faster, than expected😊
