Riding on a motorcycle is one of my freeways to enjoy a day. Sometimes I'll go out with my friends or I drive alone finding solace in a certain place. Once, as I was about to refill my motorcycle's gas in a shell station in Cebu, the lights and decorations immediately captured my attention. So, I automatically get in and enjoy the place's relaxing space without hesitation.
This place is a go-to place not just for hanging out but for families as well. You have plenty of things to choose from inside. You can have your coffee or chocolate drinks paired with delicious and great bread and other packed foods.
And because I was so thirsty, I ordered one iced coffee. While waiting for my order, I was mesmerized by the different paintings hanging around the place. The place is so amazing!
Walking near their comfort room, you can see these paintings. For me, it somehow speaks about Filipino culture - about courtship where a young Filipina girl will be courted by a young Filipino boy before getting married. Both are wearing the national costume.
Another picture talks about how a family trained each other to help with their household chores. Even young kids were being trained to help their parents in doing the task. This is how older generations were being taught by their parents when they were still young. When kids were not addicted to technology, cell phones were not the life of everybody.
As you go upstairs, more paintings will be seen. More pictures about being a Filipino are posted on the wall.
They are wearing the Filipiniana costume for Filipina women.
Another picture talks about the daily lives of Filipinos. Before there was no faucet in every house, Filipinos would go to the river, wash their clothes, and fetch drinking water using their jar.
This picture tells about the daily life of Filipinos. In the market setting where sellers place their baskets and other products on the ground and buyers will go and get what they want. One picture tells us about the famous "balut selling". An eggs paired with salt and vinegar which is very delicious and yummy to eat.
Another ordinary seller was selling different kinds of birds which I could tell was the life of the vendors near the carbon public market in Cebu where they were also selling different kinds of animals: birds, fish, and guinea pigs around.
These pictures tell us how Filipinos survive in daily living. Planting and fishing are one of the best ways Filipinos survive. Planting with the help of carabaos and cows. Living near rivers and seas makes it more enjoyable for Filipinos to catch fish to survive for daily needs.
Being friendly to everyone is also one of the best traits of being a Filipino. Wherever we are, seeing each other has a huge impact where you share thunderous waves of laughter and tears.
Some will go together with their habits and vices. Just like in the picture going to a cockfight is one of the most favorite vices of Filipinos. Though you will not win all the time in this place, you can see that flocks of friends will still visit the place to gamble.
It's a relaxing place to stay. You can also bring your friends and chitchats. Sometimes being in a place where you can relax and unwind brings fulfillment to yourself especially if you are bombarded with loads of work lately.
That's all for today's blog my dear friends. It's been a while, I hope you find time to read and enjoy my blog. If you are in Cebu, you can personally check the place and be amazed at the different galleries posted.
Have a nice day everyone😊

This is one of the best Shell gas stations throughout the entire Cebu City. A gas station that looks so much like a museum. Love that they kept the interior this way and their comfort rooms are so clean and smells so good. Literally, you’ll find comfort! Haha. Bonus, you get to take good pictures in the place.
Yes sis. First time to visit the place and I am super amzed with the different galleries posted around. 😊
Shell gas stations are really cool but the gas is expensive. When in Cebu City, the gasoline station that sells the cheapest is refill gas station across sm jmall only ₱58.00 per liter of unleaded gsoline heheheh
Hehe yes, the gasoline were too expensive right now.
Seeing those paintings really shows how creative and artistic Filipinos are 🥰.
There works were truly amazing.
That's a lot of artwork in a shell station! I never thought they have this kind of gimmick! It's like finding a hidden gallery out of an ordinary place. So nice!
Is this in the city mam?
Hello @wittyzell, yes I find it amazing and extraordinary seeing the different portrait inside the shell mobility station.
Yes, it's in the city near Robinsons Galleria.😊
Gas station as well as a coffee/tea shop?wow nice!
Yes @missjoycee. This is the shell gas station near Robinsons Galleria.
The owner must be an art collector or may be a family of artists themselves. The way the paintings are arranged, you can see that it's a collection of artists works. I wish I could do the same and collect art hehe
