Starting Something New: My Blog, My Story

Hello everyone! I’m Shann Jevie Valdez, and this is my intrduction blog for the hive. I am a first year BS- Psychology student, an ESL Teacher, a vocalist of a band and also a mother of a beautiful daughter.In this blog, you will find a little bit of everything about myself, and what are my hobbies and what are my interests, you will also find some wonderful things about my interests like documenaries, music, movies, histories and other wonderful things that you might be curious about. I will share with you some of my likes and hobbies first, and hope you enjoy this one.

I love gothic aesthetic and gore/horror movies, I also love watching case documentaries and my favorite case is the black dahlia. My taste in music is not that quite pleasing to others but I love metal, punk, rock and alternative kind of music, My favorite artist is Avril Lavigne and I also love paramore, nirvana and other kind of bands that has loud musics. I also have a deep interest on histories of other countries like the Tudors, Romanov, or other sorts of royalties.

My passion and hobby is to make music and sing, I also write some songs on my spare time and love to write poetry also, my grammar isn’t that good but that’s what I love doing. I also love making journal and doing crochet, I also love watching some medeival arts online and appreciate them. Music is one of my greatest escape when I’m having a hard time, it saves me everytime like who doesn’t experience that? Sometimes music is the only thing that makes you feel good about life, I make songs for my comfort and even making them to make me busy and not so boring.

Except for writing music, I also play instruments like guitar, drums, piano and bass but guitar is the most instrument that I play. I am a vocalist on my band called “ The Zenith” and also an artist at a small production of local rappers, I started doing rap when my band took a break because of school works and work. Doing what I love or doing these kind of stuff is nice and it unwind me like this is my great escape when there is a lot of things going on in my life.

I am a fan of skateboarding also, I do skateboard when I’m a bit lazy doing my hobbies at home. Sometimes I go and spend the rest of my afternoon at a skatepark and hangout with my friends on the spot that we play, we often criticized by so many people because of how we dress and how we just don’t care about life but we really do. My friends at the park often get some bad criticism because most of them don’t go to school and leave in the streets, not being homeless but that’s what makes them feel comfortable and just watch the streets makes them feel at ease when life gets tough.

No one influenced me about these things, I only saw them and wanted to go deeper and now I am embracing it till now. My interest in music starts to kick in when I am just 8 years old, the first artist I hear is Avril Lavigne and next is the black Sabbath. My interest in murder cases starts when I was 11 years old when I watched the documentary of the Black Dahlia and my interest in histories starts when I first watched the Tudors when I was 15. I started skateboarding in year 2021 when the pandemic is about to go down and there I approach some strangers that plays skateboards that now I call as friends. Most of my hobbies were discovered by me, I guess when you are bored you really discover things that makes you feel comfortable and make you feel joyful and fulfill your needs to keep you entertain. Because I was bored I discovered this hive also and that is because of my classmates, I want to reminisce my hobby of writing though I did’nt do it for a long time now.

I joined the orientation and I find it interesting, the orientation was led by miss @jeannmazing and I quite like how she let us understand broadly on what this is all about. I like doing journals and writing, I want this as an opportunity to share my thoughts and my ideas about what I like and maybe some people will come and appreciate it. I learned many things about the hive, and I found the no delete policy of blog because I can always go back to my works and check it if I want to. I wanted to give it a shot to a new door of my hobby and let other people and maybe friends to come and admire my works on writing. I am hoping to have some new friends in this platform and wanted them to be interested also on what I will share and what I will write on my blogs, I want to inspire others with my works and maybe they will also open new doors for new things. When I discovered Hive, I taught that maybe this is the only things and one of my hobbies that I can do to make me feel a bit good to myself and maybe to others, it’s also like reminiscing writing on my own experiences and my own story that maybe some of the people out there will appreciate it and I will gain more confidence on writing. I may not be good at editing and maybe not so good at writing but maybe even just for a a little bit of the details I keep on improving myself and someone can really acknowledge it. Sometimes writing your own story and experiences is a bit comforting, and it’s like reminiscing every inch of it by remembering and writing it on this kind of platform, and maybe many people can take a notice and appreciate some of my work and wait for me to upload again. It’s a gain for me and also an entertainment to others, and when you think about it, you can feel a bit of a gain for yourself because it is also and accomplishments when you finish and publish it.
