Since the time the pandemic started, all of our activities are restricted especially the social gatherings. Everytime we celebrate a fiesta here, it is quiet and no one can tell whether it's the day of fiesta. It's feel so lonely and I can feel that the whole world is in isolation.
After 2 years of pandemic lockdowns, here we are now slowly returning to our normal lives. I am really mesmerized
by seeing the different huts showcased by every barangays here in our municipality. The last time I saw something like this was way back 2019. That's so sad because we have no idea that everything would totally changed in an instant.
The whole boardwalk is shining
like a Christmas eve. The social gatherings activities are held in the middle of the board walk where everyone can watch and hear the dances. I am really surprised to see a lot of people because it's been a long time since I haven't been in a crowded places.
The most exciting and interesting event of all is the Miss Opol 2022 beauty pageant. I really admire all the contestants because they have the beauty and the confidence to showcase themselves in front of the people. One of my former classmate is also a contestant and I am really amused that her confidence is growing. However, an unexpected thing happened. My classmate tripped on the stage as she walked by to showcase their swimsuit attire. I really can't believe it as she walked gracefully showing their swimsuit, she suddenly lose her balance and fell in the stage. I know she felt so really embarrassed by that incident but I hope it won't discourage her from rejoining beauty pageants again.
It's been a long time since I haven't seen a carnival fair. I am so really excited when seeing this, I can't believe it is now back again. I really miss going to the rides, seeing some amusement display and other social gathering activities.
The night view is a lot beautiful. I've ride a Ferris wheel for the first time in my life. I am with two sisters and one of my sister's classmate is also there to join with us. I was really nervous as the ride becomes faster, I feel that my heart is going to drop and I was even yelling to stop. I have fear of heights and I do not like trying rides but I thought of going out from my comfort zone this time.
I am very happy that everything is going back to the normal life now. I really enjoy and I hope that the pandemic is totally over so that next year, we can celebrate a way more happy and fun festival. It feels so good seeing a lot of different faces, street dances, splendid lights, parties and other feast celebrations.

Fiestas are what we always look forward to every time of the year and developed a festive spirit. Then, when the pandemic happened, everythings changed. We came to appreciate things that we took for granted. Now, that it's back, we appreciate it now even more.
