September 17, 2022 was one of the big day for CLI employees. Every year they celebrate sportfest to let there employees showcase their talents in sports and promote camaraderie.
Now that I am part of the CLI family, its my first time witnessing such event. Excited yet anxious, will I be able to enjoy this event knowing that I'm still new to the company? Will let see. But still I'm very happy for I still got a chance to join even though I'm a newbie.
On the day of the event, there are shuttles provided for employees from IT Park (our office) to the Ateneo de Cebu (place of the event). The departure time of the first shuttle was 6:15 am. I arrived at the office almost 6:00 am, I brought my breakfast at the Seven-eleven store and went to the Bus. We arrived at Ateneo de Cebu almost 7:00 am. I was really amazed and mesmerized by the place, it was such a huge school and the moment you enter from the gate you can really say that only rich kids went here. The facilities are complete, they have gymnasiums, chapel, swimming pool, a wide field for football or track and field and the rooms are well built. The also have canteens that look like you're in a teleserye. Anyway, back to the event, along the way one of the HR officer advised us to attend the the mass at 7:30 am so when we arrived it was too early so I decided to eat my breakfast first and then went to the chapel.
After the mass, we started the parade (from the chapel to the gymasium, it was so near thou yet we still do it just to feel the essence of the sportfest just like when we're still in High school or college).
We started the program with the lighting of torch, welcome address from one of our heads, cheers and yells prepared by each teams and a zumba party. It was indeed a fun start, everyone is so competetive with there cheers and yells and very energetic dancing the zumba. After the zumba, the championships of each balls games was started.
There are coupons distributed for our snacks and lunch also. Since I'm a eating is life, I went straight to the canteen to get my snacks before watching any games. After eating our snacks, we went straight to the swimming competetion, then watch volleyball games, the basketball champions and lastly went back to the canteen to eat out lunch. By the way, I was so happy opening our pack lunch there were lots of food given, sana always. hahaha!
After our lunch, the afternoon program started where Larong pinoy are to be played. By the way, I'm one of the players here but I will not tell you what game it is. hahaha! Here are the Larong Pinoy that we're about to played (1) Sack Race (2) Holahop relay (3) Ballon popping (4) Takyan (5) Maria and Mario went to town. What you think did I play?
After the Larong Pinoy, we started the Mr. and Miss CLI Sportfrst then followed by cheer dance competitions.
Ended, with the awardings and photo snaps. This day was indeed an amazing experience. First compant event I witness and it was a successful one. So happy, to be part of this family.
THE GOOD B.I. is a group of 4 employees-friends from Cebu City wanting to share their adventures and random ideas with everyone. The group’s future stories to tell will be so vast and diverse. Imagine having four brains to share different ideas and might end up in a disagreement. A feat that others might be so fearful to do, but they believe that it is what will make their posts more exceptional and remarkable.
