Child's dreams,
Oil on canvas,
60 x 50
THE SKETCH:
In the process of creating the painting, I usually like to start by drawing a solid sketch.
The sketch is made with ink pen.
In this case I went a bit overboard, so later on, in the process of painting, I had to reduce the quantity of small objects appearing in the distance.
PAINTING PROCESS:
To start, I like to cover my canvas with acrylic. It is advisable to do so, in order to get your acrylics to pop out, to get more saturated, beautiful colors.
After drawing sketch to the canvas, I start by placing the light throughout the painting.
In the next steps I am placing the prime color of all forms appearing in my painting, and defining the misty surroundings. In order to achieve the perception of depth I am painting all the objects which are closer to the viewer with crisp saturated colors. By moving away further, I am cooling the warm colors down, by adding light grey to the mixture.
Defining clouds appearing above the light source, with a light brush strokes.
Adding more definition to the characters. Final touches.
Here is the finished product;
I wish you happy dreaming!
